If someone can't tell the difference between tuna meat vs. salmon, and especially sardines, they've got "bigger fish to fry" than worrying about the nutritional content.

Only 25 people in the US died from botulism stemming from canned goods in the last 10 years. Every single one of those cases it was improperly HOME canned foods.

Statistically, commercially canned botulism is a nonfactor, although awareness is probably a good thing.

Without a doubt, the best canned tuna that I've tried (and I've tried most of them).
Although, dented cans are a big issue!....and most cans delivered by Amazon are subject to the their typical carelessness!
I had to resort to picking these up at BJ's (where they're currently more expensive).

It may compromise their seal. But you'd know that by the smell/swelling.

Dented cans can have the bacteria C. botulinum but it mostly has to be a deeper dent that you can fit your finger in.

OK...but why take the risk? Very small dents are typically not a problem, but with the way Amazon (and the other carriers) throw packages around, the overall risk factor is high with cans. Larger dents can easily compromise the safety of the product....and you won't always know it until it makes you sick.

Depending upon the size/shape of the dents, the safety of the product can definitely be compromised. It's not worth taking the risk.
