Pay the sales tax plus a residual, in my case 63 cents per month.

The offer is described below, other phones qualify as well as the Revvl8.

I ordered through Costco to get the fees waived, and to get a $100 Costco Gift card.

There's not even any reason to go in person unless you'll be there anyway (and maybe not even then). You can call them and place the order. I'd rather be sitting at home on the phone for a half hour than standing at the kiosk at Costco. Phone number is on the linked page.https://www.costco.com/t-mobile-b...wcase.html
Does Costco have the same prices and trade-in amounts that I see on T-Life? So I can get the Pixel 9a for $50 if I trade in my Galaxy S8+, with no activation fee, if I call the number on your link?

Thanks for mentioning the 9a! I have a OnePlus 8 and my son has an older Galaxy 8+. The Pixel 9a should be a noticeable upgrade for a couple bucks a month.
Congrats on holding out so long. Early last year I just got my nephew out of a OnePlus 6T and into a free Pixel 9.

I'd suggest that to you and your son the Pixel 9a will physically feel cheaper (as in, more plastic) than either of your current devices. However, you should both find that functionally your changes are either neutral or upgrades. Of course, both of you will have some adjusting to do coming from your respective devices to the stock Android UI.

The REVVL 8 will more than function as a smartphone, and it has wild features for the effective price. Also note that at this price point the phone is a money-maker via Costco. However, the REVVL has always represented a lowest-cost value device option T-Mobile can offer their subscribers rather than a phone you can recommend highly for any particularly noteworthy feature outside of the value/price point.

Most notably, the aforementioned S9 should produce far better quality photos than what any REVVL (or other lowest-cost device) can capture... then again, camera quality on cell phones isn't a priority for every buyer.

The REVVL 8 CPU+Memory specifications directly compare with something like the Samsung A36. However, the A36 also incorporates an AMOLED screen (something Samsung has recently implemented across the entire A-series line). Luckily, if getting an improved screen is your only concenr the REVVL 8 Pro has a comparable offer from TMO where any plan can get the REVVL 8 Pro for under $50. Unfortunately, the REVVL 8 Pro won't fix any of the issues with camera output.

However, the Pixel 9a is currently available for under $300 from TMO and the models qualifying for a $250 credit are pretty low-end (although said devices would have to be functioning):
Apple iPhone: 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, X, XR, XS, XS Max, 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, 12 mini, 12, SE2, SE3
Samsung Galaxy: S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, S7, S7 Edge, S7 Active, S7 edge duo, S8, S8+, S8 Active, S9, S9+, Note8, A14 5G, A15 5G, A21, A23, A32, A32 5G, A35, A51, A51 5G, A52, A52 5G, A53 5G, A54 5G, A71, A71 5G, Z Fold, Z Fold2, Z Flip, Z Flip 5G
OnePlus: 7 Pro 5G, 7T Pro, 8T, 8T+ 5G, 8, 8 Pro5G, 9 5G, 10T 5G
Google Pixel: 4, 4a, 4a 5G, 4XL, 5a 5G, 6a, 7a, 8a
LG: V60 ThinQ
Moto: razr 2024, razr 40 5G, razr 40 Ultra, Edge 5G 2022, Edge 5G 2023, Edge 5G 2024

Ultimately, if you had any ability to shop the Pixel 9a trade-in deal it would be the one to get for those who actually need a daily driver. For reasonable camera quality consider any most any reasonably recent model Pixel, iPhone, or Samsung Galaxy S-series.

About the biggest concern I have regarding these new deals is T-Mobile's new policy limiting pre-payment. Though I have previously run multiple device payments on a single line, I worry that the new policy limiting pre-payment may also hinder my future ability to run concurrent device upgrade promotions on the same line. Perhaps someone has had recent experience with concurrent device promos on a single line ever since TMO rolled out the prepayment restriction?

Good luck!
Jon
I have an old and unused working (but cracked) iPhone 6s Plus which I imagine would not qualify as a "good condition" device for trade-in to get that Pixel 9a. I also see that the REVVL phones generally don't seem to be accepted as trade-in devices. There's probably no point in trading it in for the REVVL, right? I wouldn't be using the device for now and just potentially wanting to move into something more trade-in friendly for the future, since what I have is cracked and not likely to be useful for future trade-ins.

Excellent point about residual value: the REVVL models have little to none. This isn't uncommon for carrier-branded devices as well as a large number of phones offered as no-cost options, particularly those without major branding (as in Apple, Google, or Samsung). In contrast, even the mid-tier A-series phones from Samsung receive promotional consideration on newer Samsung offers.

For some a major reason to stay up to date on these promotions is to maintain residual value for future trades. However, the REVVL does nothing in this consideration.

Good luck!

I placed my Pixel 9a order through Costco, hopefully the credits apply accurately since it wasn't as straightforward as I thought. They quoted me $25 trade-in for my OnePlus 8. I mentioned it was $250 on T-Life and she put me on hold then eventually said she saw the promotion and it's $25 trade-in with a $225 credit. The paperwork didn't mention any credits though. And she didn't mention a Costco gift card either.

The call took 50 minutes. It probably would have been better to just pay the $35 activation and go through the T-Life app.

edit: I received a text from T-Mobile indicating that I have credits on my account, so now I can rest assured that I got the promotion.

Is the Costco rebate ($75 or $100) now automatic ? Previously we had to submit it at https://promotions.t-mobile.com/costco but I wasn't given a promotion code this time at the store.

You need to open a new line for the phone. Kinda dumb tbh unless you can cancel the line.

Just to follow up on my experience.
My S9 was on a backup line (former land line) ported in as a free line on a past T Mobile promotion. The phone was very slow functioning, even for text and reading emails. It had a cracked screen, which prevented me from most trade in programs.
My plan is the ONE plan, which also is rarely offered trade in deals.
Thus, for my situation, this is a good deal. The Revvl8 should have 5 years of updates, and is blindingly fast compared to the aging S9. The pictures are decent, clearly not as good as the S9.
My due diligence found this review https://medium.com/@jackolmsted/t...73bc757ee4 which sold the deal for me.
As noted elsewhere, and in the review, assuming I get the Costco gift card, this is a money making deal.

I went to Costco to get the Pixel 9a with trade in. However, they said it would be $499 instead of $299 if I do trade in. Is it true? Thank you!

update: I guess because I have simple choices plan.

I'm still seeing the $299 discount price. I'm on Magenta.

Good luck!

Has the offer on the Samsung A17 ended, or did it simply stop showing for me because I've reached my limit of 4 redemptions for my account?

Good luck!
