About this title:
WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers is a soulslike, action RPG set in the land of Shu during the dark and tumultuous late Ming Dynasty, plagued with warring factions and a mysterious illness spawning monstrous creatures. Become Wuchang, a skilled pirate warrior struck by amnesia, who must navigate the uncertainties of her mysterious past while afflicted by the horrific Ornithropy disease. Explore the depths of Shu, enhancing your arsenal and mastering new skills harvested from fallen foes. Evolve your fighting style by sacrificing elusive Red Mercury and further develop new techniques obtained throughout your action-packed journey. Augment the weapons in your repertoire with powerful enchantments, allowing for a unique approach to combat and strategy that suits your personal style. Battle against grotesque abominations, drawing on ancient lore to challenge the creeping darkness that threatens the humanity that remains. Your quest for truth will take you through forgotten temples, overgrown ruins, and shadowed paths fraught with peril. As you piece together Wuchang's lost memories, your choices will lead you to one of several endings—each determined by the choices made, secrets unearthed and the allies you choose to trust. Immerse yourself in a rich storyline, dynamic combat system, and breathtaking visuals that offer an unforgettable adventure through lands veiled in chaos and death. Will you reveal the truths of Wuchang's curse and bring peace to Shu, or will you succumb to the encroaching horrors? The fate of the land rests in your hands.

Great game and beautiful graphics on the PS5! Still playing it and it's a challenge of a game from learning the dashboard for leveling up your character to difficult boss fights. AI bosses in this game are crazy and I died multiple times gazing at the graphics. If you can wait, I foresee this game getting down to $20 by the next holiday season. $35 is the best price I've seen since the holidays on any console if you wanna enjoy now.

Great game. I played it on high end PC so I cant speak for the PS5 version but if you like Souls-like games this is one of the best ones out there.

this game is cheap, beat it on PC with some helper mods. Level design is pretty lazy, the areas all look the same, so you end up doing the old school follow the left wall through the whole area.

There's no possible way you can think every area looks the same, if you beat this. There is a lot of variety in the world design. Also, why would you admit to using helper mods. Lol. You could have just said you beat it. You didn't need to volunteer that information. Might as well just come out and say, "I'm not good enough to play this game." You didn't beat this if you used helper mods. You just played through it... if you even did that; considering your, "the areas all look the same" comment.

haha, I did beat the game with mods, saved a bunch of boring grinding time too. Bloodborne was the last one I was actually motivated to play the intended way, the grinding formula gets old after a few of the souls games. Yes, there is a red level, a green level, a dark level, etc. In those levels they don't have good landmarks or goals to run too, so you end up just hugging the walls to the finish. The snow level was the most comprehensive because they had the visible landmarks to reach, that was the only one that resembled a cohesive Souls level I like.
edit: the devs put a lot of effort into her bouncing booty, so running against walls wasn't as boring as it could have been

Lol that's exactly how I beat Dark Souls on Youtube, no booty but equally cheap.

that's funny, I remember a few maze areas in dark souls including blighttown. Basically think of every level as the ladder section of blighttown, but with less variety, lol

Also cheap developer couldn't even put any booty in the game, and I was able to beat it with this cheap running against the wall method, so "cheaper" is the right word.

Dark Souls does need a wiki IMO, but it does have a good balance of varied environments. I can't believe you were able to beat Darks Souls without a wiki and just hugging the wall! How long did that take, 300 hours? or did you check a wiki too?

I LOVE this game! Beat it on gamepass otherwise I would buy it. The combat is fluid and make you feel like a wuxia badass. 6 weapon types with multiple custom abilities that really changes your approaches to combat. Respecs are free and available anytime at a shrine so you can experiment with what floats your boat. I would place it below bloodborne, elden bring, the original dark souls and sekiro. But I would easily place wuchang above lies of p and the other dark souls entries, lords of the fallen 2023 and the surge series and code vein in that order. Yes I'm a sucker for souls like.
I don't understand other sder's complaints about the 'maze'. The level design is actually straightforward with little detours that either unlocks a shortcut or some difficult enemies for bonus skill points or additional treasure. You know, like pretty much ALL souls like. The prison level is the only one I can think of that is somewhat maze like .You can miss entire optional bosses if you don't explore a little but if you go the main route, you'll beat the game albeit with the worst ending.
Two things I will note is my disappointment with the developers bowing to pressure to the Chinese nationalist and also some of the boss runs were obnoxious. You can read more online about them bowing to pressure but it doesn't change any gameplay, just affects the lore in a minor way.
Highly recommend if you like souls like and also love wuxia.
