I've had mine for I want to say 6+ years? Back when I got it half off from Eddie Bauer for $10 - still going strong and I use it everyday for work commuting, weekend hangouts and travel! It is truly a great pack!

In for one, I have heard good things about this one from travel youtubers, checked out the price history, seems like a decent time to pull the trigger.

They are great day bags for trips. I have many of the 20L and 30L bags here and they all get used. They take up no space in suitcases and can hold a good amount of stuff. The straps are not padded but are wide enough that they evenly distribute the weight and don't dig into your shoulders.

If you have an EB store near you, they are the same price and have more colors.

20L is $20
30L is $27

I think I got mine for $5 after some member credit many years ago and it's still going strong. Gets plenty of use when traveling.

As much as I like and continue to use my old 20L and 30L EB day packs, there are better deals on backpacks with more features (such as straps, extra pockets, etc). Like the flashlight and turbo fan deals, you just have to be patient and alert for these opportunities. For example, here is a deal for a 20L day pack that popped up a couple of weeks ago for $15 after a coupon. I assume it has expired as I can't order another one (or it won't allow me to purchase another since I have already used the coupon).

torn between this and something more packable like the Nanobag Ultra-Lightweight Foldable Backpack. For a "packable" thing this seems a little bulky, advertised at 8.5x7x1.5. Anybody have experience packing it? Is it small enough to really pack anywhere or do you find yourself taking it out to save space?

I've packed it a bunch and it manages to squeeze just about anywhere in my duffel bag with ease.

Look at the second picture on the Amazon site and you can see how small it folds. The "pouch" is actually a zippered pocket on the bag that everything folds into. It's durable rip-stop material and can take quite a bit of abuse. I have a couple of them, and I use one for weekend travels. I can pack up to 5 days' worth of warm weather clothing in it, no problems and it easily fits under the airline seat in front of you if you want to use it as the "personal item" for most budget air carriers.

We bought a pair for a trip to the UK 8 years ago, to have small daypacks that would take up very little space in our luggage for the travel there. They fit the purpose perfectly, we used them nearly every day while we were there. I've continued to use one back home as my light pack for riding the motorcycle, and it's held up well for that too. I think we got them for $12 back when, considering the utility they have provided they would be worth it at $20 for me.

These are good bags to bring traveling for walking around town after you arrived at a city. I wouldn't use them on a daily basis since the straps are not padded and they're not good for carrying heavier objects
