I am an ex-REI employee and have held Pro-Deal discounts at both Hoka and Salomon in the past with a weekly mileage of 10-20 mi running. The only comment I'll make is that Hoka are extremely comfortable and cushy. A positive... however, they execute this by having very soft soles and little hard rubber traction on the bottom of their shoes. Basically, it's almost entirely soft foam on the underside sole instead of rubber. This leads to their shoes wearing out very quickly. Brooks, in contrast, last a long time but don't have the cushion Hoka allows. Go for Hoka if you're training and need to consider comfort, but don't be surprised by their longevity - trade offs.

How wide do Hoka's run? I see these are D and there are no wide sizes shown but I know sometimes shoe brands make all their shoes pretty wide. Trying to find something that fits my duck feet is rough. As I type this I'm wearing Skechers 13EEE slip-ons and it feels like I have compression socks on.

I was thinking of buying these, but I'll pass and wait for others.
