Per GROK AI the Xbox Series X has graphical processing capability roughly equivalent to a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti PC video card.

A GeForce RTX 3060 Ti by itself is about $330 currently.

So this xbox series X gives you ~$330 in graphics processing PLUS 1TB in storage, 16 GB memory, controller etc.

Can you build a functional PC based with a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, 1TB SSD, 16GB memory and gamepad for $599?

You forgot to include that it's a subscription service, I wouldn't pay $600 for something that has a base subscription cost of $10 a month.

No...I have never had a subscription and enjoy playing games. Maybe that's for multiplayer?

Depends on the type of gaming you want to do.

There is no subscription required to play single player games or "free to play" multiplayer games (fortnite, apex legends, rocket league, etc.)

wrong.. you can play many games free without paying for the service the service is access to games. Xbox itself comes with many free games and you can always buy and play games with no monthly payment.

Getting COD free every year just about makes up for that monthly payment alone should you choose to buy the membership plan.
