Why would any slickdealers need this? I can see an auto mechanic using a grease gun, but a powered one? Please school me on this.

I'm tempted to buy one for tractor maintenance. I've got 3 older tractors that I use to maintain our hunting property and they all have 10 to 20 grease zerks that require greasing once or twice a year. One of these would speed things up and make it a lot easier. - Especially for the hard to reach ones.

We have large excavators that are older models so they have been retired out to our ranch. Both have tracks that lose tension after limited use. Grease is used to apply tension to tracks and it can take a lot of grease which will make your hands/arms sore to pump in. We have Milwaukee auto grease guns like this at our shop but they are expensive. Too expensive to leave on excavator out in field. This one is perfect to leave out there

I always wanted one of these but they're kind of pricey. Then last November Home Depot had the Milwaukee M12 kit for $89 (after military discount), unfortunately it's back to $269. I would never have paid $269 for it, but...if I were in the market I would take a chance on this "TaskStar" at $48. My guess is it works just fine.

The first time I used mine I was sold on it's usefulness, so much easier to use. The one thing I don't like about this gun and the other generics is it doesn't have legs like the Milwaukee. How hard would that have been to give it legs for when you set it down?

Absolutely, the basics are the same, but priming it is easier since you just hold down the trigger.

  • pull the handle back and lock in place
  • unscrew and remove the tube (the whole tube, not the metal end cap with the handle on the end)
  • remove the plastic cap from the cartridge and insert the cartridge into the metal tube
  • pop the metal did off the end cartridge
  • re-insert the tube by screwing it back into the gun
  • then just press and hold down the trigger until grease grease comes out
