Yeah this thing is a piece of junk. Plastic gears, too lightweight for even the most basic of outdoor terrain and shots. Broke the first weekend out. They sent me a replacement and that one broke the first day out. They did offer a refund and we're chill to deal with so there is that. They did try and make it right so 2 stars there. Cost gives it a 3 star so if you need a cheap, basic tripod to take family pics or record family events then this would likely make a good tripod for you.
I bought mine for use to record my kids sporting events. Sometimes I set up in really awkward spots and having uneven terrain really highlighted the lack of stability. I took it to a mountain arena and did some hiking and tried to set up to get sunrise shots and trying to crank up the telescoping rod, the gears were clunky and the plastic internals broke after a couple of uses.

Thank you. Almost pulled the trigger but held off because of your feedback. Have you found a good one- I have had bad luck with the plastic ones breaking all the time.

I have a SLIK brand tripod that I found at a thrift store and I love it except it doesn't extend tall enough for eye-level (U5000 model). As far as durability it's pretty good. I have an old metal one that's unbreakable but it's so heavy and I don't even want to drag it with me anywhere. I feel like the SLIK is a good balance between lightweight and durable.

For tripods, you get what you pay for. Which is why I never pulled the trigger on these "deals". These things are expensive for a reason.

This model claims a -13 lb working weight - seems impressive but a lot considering the lightness of the tripod. Sucks to hear it seems to be yet another cheap pog.
I bought a ravelli tripod prob 10-15 years back. Sturdy. Still got it. Still have to remember to periodically tighten the hardware - being one of its flaws. But it still works
