Moto G Power 5G (2023) is the better choice if both phones cost the same. It is faster, has a sharper and smoother display, supports 5G, and going by tracfone's website, might come with 128GB storage (YMMV), so it will feel snappier now and age better with heavier apps and games.
Storage aside, AFAIK these are some additional advantages of Moto G Power 5G (2023) one Moto G Play 4G (2024):
- Much faster Dimensity 930 chip compared to the Snapdragon 680 in the Moto g Play 2024, so performance and responsiveness are noticeably better.
- Higher-resolution 1080p display with 120 Hz refresh rate, while the Moto g Play 2024 has a 720p display at 90 Hz, so text and video look sharper and scrolling is smoother on the G Power.
- 5G connectivity versus 4G-only on the Moto g Play 2024, which is better.

Did tracfone stop doing a phone with an unlimited talk/text plan and 24gb of data deals? I got one in May with a Moto G 5g with that plan and was hoping I would be able to re-up on a plan like that, as I use my phone way too much to have limited minutes and texts. But I have not seen any of those deals for like six months.
If need Unlimited Talk/Text make sure phone unlocked and get redpocket $30 yearly plan if can handle the 200MB monthly.
The 2024 g PLAY has no 5G and half the storage. Neither of these phones have eSIM or NFC and on their last legs tech-wise. This deal's main feature is the 1-year plan - think of the phone as a giveaway.

Snag a 2025 moto g STYLUS if you find a deal. It has the most features/tech of all these deals (5G, eSIM, NFC, wireless changing, more RAM/storage, Snapdragon 6 SoC, 6e Wi-Fi).
The 2024 g POWER is another alternative and has almost the same features, but limited to Android 15 (should not be a problem for most people - lots of older devices on the market so apps are compatible with multiple older generations of Android).
Avoid 2023/2024 g (without POWER/STYLUS) or g PLAY unless almost free. They are year+ lower-end models.

This is for moving/combining an existing Tracfone line with the 1-year plan on a NEW phone? I think the question was how to take just the 1-year plan to use with EXISTING plan/phone without using the new phone. Is there a way to do that? AFIAK the 1-year plan is associated with the IMEI of the new phone.

I see... You can pick up two 2025 Moto G Stylus for $75 from Straight Talk. An additional $70 for 2nd month service is needed to unlock the phones. So about $150 total for 2 new 2025 Stylus smartphones. Crazy deal IMO. This deal won't last, so don't wait too long.
Notice that Feb only has 28 days, so If you buy and activate it now, do you need a third month to count for 60 days?
