How many years do you think this will last? I ask this because I have heard about LG monitors dying after the warranty period is over.

LG monitors are the most sold in the world; it's natural to see more negative stories than other brands. Generally, LG monitors are reliable; you'll replace them because they're outdated, not because they stopped working.
