Sadly just yesterday it was announced that the FCC has granted Verizon waiver so as of today any purchases moving forward they will no longer have to adhere to the 60-day policy. And there was no restrictions at all as far as I could see I don't know if it's going to be 12 months concurrent or what.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.

So I mean you could do worse than a Moto G stylus 2025 as a music player but. ... Just terrible he depressing anti-consumer news again from the current FCC

It's too late as of today Verizon no longer has to do the 60 day unlocking because they were giving away her from the current FCC. I mean I'm sure word will get around on these comments sections but I do wonder what's going to happen to edge cases people that bought a phone a week ago or two weeks ago or whatever. Anecdotally I can say my Moto G Stylus 2025 that I bought in November seems to have been automatically unlocked in the sense that when I switched my infamobile SIM card over it still works. So far anyway.

But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.

The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

Ooooo oooo! I know! What is the dumbest question in the entire universe I could possibly ask here? How long to unlock?
I think to unlock you'd have to buy a second month and then a lot of unlock automatically after 60 days

Need to move an older relative's landline number (ATT) to a cellphone. Unsure of the steps necessary to get this accomplished, but wanted to ask if y'all think Straightalk would be a better company to do this with (eg, less hassle, smoother transition) than say, Tracfone, Verizon, etc. If too OT, please PM. Thanks so much!!
I would use straight talk over TracFone because it's much easier to swap Sims and such. And cuz they have a partnership with Walmart so you can sometimes go to Walmart for customer service. But you might even be better off with visible which is basically another verizon-based MVNO that Walmart deals with.

When I was buying my Moto G stylus the similar deal they also gave me the option of a free TCL next paper tablet if I paid $60 for 3 months of coverage. I didn't even know they made a TCL next paper tablet with LTE but the one I had was an older one with only 4 gigabytes of RAM so I passed. I was tempted though I really want to try next paper but I didn't want to buy a tablet with only 4 GB of RAM.

Even for $60

It should be $67 for 1 phone after 2 months of service. Better than MetroPCS but is no free tablet for $20.
The next generation of this phone (2026) will use chinese CPU - it will be slower and hotter.
BYW - it said "you do need 60 days of PAID service to unlock. After 60 days of continuous service" - but February has 28 days only! It looks like you will have to pay a fee more days for rich 60 days.
The lower-end 2026 g PLAY and 2026 g POWER comes with MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoCs. Would be weird for them to put in a worst SoC for the 2026 STYLUS.

May be I'm wrong but I used the google search result a month ago. It said - Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 6300 OR Snapdragon 6 Gen 3/4 (rumored).

I haven't seen anything stating what CPU the 2026 will use- where did you see that info? It also looks like the 2026 will come with a proper stylus finally. But it's going to likely be $400 on release, so not really comparable to this deal.
I don't compare with this deal - just I wanted to say IF the next Moto stylus will have "Mediatek" CPU - it will be END of this family unfortunately

Just pulled the trigger. A phone and a tablet plus service for a month for both. Totally worth 100 bucks. Curious about the nxt paper display technology. And as a Samsung guy I love me a stylus. Should be good to scratch that curiosity itch!

No, you made a clear statement. Your post didn't say "IF" and it didn't say Mediatek. BTW, Mediatek is a Taiwanese company whose chips are made by TSMC.

This is not a new deal. It has been this price for months if you bought two phones...

Can you tell me if they unlocked a few days before or after 60 days exactly? I have Totalwireless and a day before end of first month i switched to $10 plan so wondering if it would unlock or I need another $10 month. Appreciate any response
You can wait after the second month ends, let it lapse to check if it's unlocked and then pay for the third month if required.

If it helps, I had total wireless same unlock policy. Only paid for 2 months. Never renewed service. My Stylist unlock automatically at the 2 months mark. I did not pay for a third month. Now using phone with US Cellular 10 buck plain. Works fine.

you are right twice but I have the bad experience with Mediatek CPU in Sony phone and I don't want to repeat it again. This post does not relate to this topic)))
