Sadly just yesterday it was announced that the FCC has granted Verizon waiver so as of today any purchases moving forward they will no longer have to adhere to the 60-day policy. And there was no restrictions at all as far as I could see I don't know if it's going to be 12 months concurrent or what.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.

So I mean you could do worse than a Moto G stylus 2025 as a music player but. ... Just terrible he depressing anti-consumer news again from the current FCC

It's too late as of today Verizon no longer has to do the 60 day unlocking because they were giving away her from the current FCC. I mean I'm sure word will get around on these comments sections but I do wonder what's going to happen to edge cases people that bought a phone a week ago or two weeks ago or whatever. Anecdotally I can say my Moto G Stylus 2025 that I bought in November seems to have been automatically unlocked in the sense that when I switched my infamobile SIM card over it still works. So far anyway.

But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.

The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

I bought a 2024 moto g power as a second phone and I gotta say I kinda like it better than my iphone 14. I think Android has finally caught up to apple.

It should be $67 for 1 phone after 2 months of service. Better than MetroPCS but is no free tablet for $20.
The next generation of this phone (2026) will use chinese CPU - it will be slower and hotter.
BYW - it said "you do need 60 days of PAID service to unlock. After 60 days of continuous service" - but February has 28 days only! It looks like you will have to pay a fee more days for rich 60 days.
I don't think the free tablet for $20 is live anymore.

Bro, this one is better than Power 2024. You will love it. I'm starting to use it more than my Google Pixel lol. Only the Pixel camera is objectively better. It's crazy how good this Stylus 2025 is.

Absolutely. I've bought 2 Moto G Powers for friends, an Samsung A14g and A16g for friends, and just bought a Motorola Stylus for me. Check your info before making dumb comments. Congress passed the unlock bill so we don't get stuck with 1 or 2 year outrageous contracts. What a bunch of Karens.
OK, good luck getting your Stylus unlocked with only 30 days of service laugh out loud

The tracfone/Verizon unlock policy changed on 4/1/2025 and there have literally been hundreds of comments here on SD and Reddit confirming it's being enforced. They were even applying it retroactively and some guy had to sue them just to get his device unlocked.

Need 60 days active service to unlock the phone, so you need to have 3 months service since Feb only have 28 days?

This is incorrect. 60 days of paid service is required for an unlock.
Wow, so my Lifeline phone, the A16 G I bought doing this in November and just activated through Assurance Wireless, which I use right now, doesn't work?

"This comment has been rated as unhelpful by Slickdeals users...." where are we know , at the YELP website? Come on Slickdeals you're better than this!
The reason is because it is OUTDATED, and WRONG now. The unlock policy has changed.

BUT we who know the actual truth cannot get the incorrect post taken down. So, downvoting is the only thing left to do to get people's attention.

Did you read the responses to that post? It should be removed completely, because it will be believed by some who don't read any further, and those who saw it before it was rebutted, and trusted it. Did you believe it? You would have understood the downbotes had you kept reading.
Slickdeals is better FOR THIS.
