Sadly just yesterday it was announced that the FCC has granted Verizon waiver so as of today any purchases moving forward they will no longer have to adhere to the 60-day policy. And there was no restrictions at all as far as I could see I don't know if it's going to be 12 months concurrent or what.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.

So I mean you could do worse than a Moto G stylus 2025 as a music player but. ... Just terrible he depressing anti-consumer news again from the current FCC

It's too late as of today Verizon no longer has to do the 60 day unlocking because they were giving away her from the current FCC. I mean I'm sure word will get around on these comments sections but I do wonder what's going to happen to edge cases people that bought a phone a week ago or two weeks ago or whatever. Anecdotally I can say my Moto G Stylus 2025 that I bought in November seems to have been automatically unlocked in the sense that when I switched my infamobile SIM card over it still works. So far anyway.

But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.

The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

Just received and activated the phones. On the portal it shows 28 days remaining instead of 30. Does that mean it'll need 3 months if service before reaching 60 days?

I see the same thing in my account. I ordered on the 11th. I wonder if they actually do 'activate' in a way when they ship, as 28 days would mathematically align with the 11th.

I know you have to activate in the web interface (which I did today, despite the phones not arriving until tomorrow), but wouldn't that mean we should have 30 days starting today?

Every recent ST deal has users mentioning this, it's just another screw up in the system. Phone receipt shows you purchased 30 days with the phone & your account should show activation date if there's any question.

No more 60 days unlock. So it will take 1 year to unlock.

We have no idea what the new requirements will be. No one knows anything for sure since there is no new policy posted online yet.
Wait until it's verified - knowing how Verizon handled the April change it could be anything (& it won't be good for users).

To confirm... There is no trick here right? I can get 2 of these with 1 month service for 75 bucks and then use them as tablets after?

Sure, they don't even need to be activated to use on wifi only. They've been doing deals like this for years, it's nothing new. I use my old ones as wifi devices around the house. You only need to continue service if you want to unlock for use on a different network.

I assume it can get up to that, but is software locked to something safer for prolonged use. When you use the in screen finger print reader, the screen gets bright enough to shine through your finger, but just in that one spot.

Thanks just wanted to make sure its not some watered down version of the phone.. Even at 1700 nits will be a great phone to use with a drone outdoors.

It's a Verizon model Moto g stylus - 2025 (XT2517V), not the unlocked one they usually review but it definitely is bright when turned up all the way.

Sounds like its the same display in both. POLED display for 45 buck? Display is way beyond stuff in this price range. Thanks everyone ordered one.

2 of my phones got affected and had to reactivate for additional month to get them unlocked. Hope that is not the case this time, I have 3 especially one is 16e.
That makes 2 of us. At the time, I also bought 2x G Power 2024 and I had to pay for another month of service to unlock.

This time around, I bought 2x G Stylus 2025 yesterday (1/12) and it is too late to activate them now.

you can rebrand it to tracfone and use the $10 plan if you like cheap plan. you do have choices.
Ya, that is a good idea as Tracfone has cheaper plans. Though I it takes some work to do the rebranding over the chat, and it's not always simple to get it done, so make sure you are ready to spend 30 minutes to an hr on chat.
