Sadly just yesterday it was announced that the FCC has granted Verizon waiver so as of today any purchases moving forward they will no longer have to adhere to the 60-day policy. And there was no restrictions at all as far as I could see I don't know if it's going to be 12 months concurrent or what.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.

So I mean you could do worse than a Moto G stylus 2025 as a music player but. ... Just terrible he depressing anti-consumer news again from the current FCC

It's too late as of today Verizon no longer has to do the 60 day unlocking because they were giving away her from the current FCC. I mean I'm sure word will get around on these comments sections but I do wonder what's going to happen to edge cases people that bought a phone a week ago or two weeks ago or whatever. Anecdotally I can say my Moto G Stylus 2025 that I bought in November seems to have been automatically unlocked in the sense that when I switched my infamobile SIM card over it still works. So far anyway.

But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.

The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

I'm in the same situation. Ordered Jan 11 and see the same things as you and can only check status via link in email. I chatted online with them yesterday and said item is sold out but wait 5-7 days. Who knows if that's true but that's what I was told.
And just like that an hour later I got a shipping notification email. I also got a "security alert" email just as the other poster has said.

After dealing with chat and a few calls to Straight Talk customer service to try to find out why my Stylus hadn't shipped for a week (it FINALLY did) I wouldn't willing use their service if they paid me. 60 days to unlock the phone and I'm gone. I thought Red Pocket CS was bad but Straight Talk took it to another level.
Can't be worse than Lyca mobile. They blocked my phone from making calls for a whole month!!! Customer service wasn't helpful, they said to email them and each message the turn around time is 3 days!!!

This isn't a great deal anymore since Verizon is moving back to a 12 month lock... Fair warning.

I haven't seen any changes to the unlock policy website, so the situation remains unclear. Verizon [verizon.com] and Straight Talk [tfwunlockpolicy.com] still show 60 days. Still a great deal for Visible customers; phone should work fine with a Visible SIM and you won't need to pay for second month.

The risk is low in my opinion. You're paying $45 (or $30 for a second line) for a $250+ phone. Even if it doesn't work out, you can still use it as an MP3 player, GPS, camera, or for games, so it's not a total loss.

The old fashioned uninstall way. I wish there was an easier way. Maybe others are aware.

So we activate for one month then wait 60 days? Or do we need to pay for two months of service before it's unlocked?

I don't know if it is true but I called the unlock number and asked about the new policy. I told him I activated my phone yesterday. He said so far they have not released the new policy and I will be covered by the old policy and can unlock in 60 days. Only time will tell if he is correct.

i am on my 58 days (from the tablet + phone deal 2 months ago). Do I need to wait for day 61 so it will unlock. And how do I know it has been unlocked if I do not have another sim from another company to try ?

Unlocks between 59 to 61 days. Go to settings, about, device details and bottom of list shows "network lock". I've never needed different sim, phones have always unlocked on their own.

I used shizuku and canta. Here's my canta profile for the moto stylus from metro https://docs.google.com/document/...p=drivesdk

No, I think I activated my phone via the Straight Talk website around 12:15 AM.

After receiving my phone today, I discovered it works perfectly with Visible, eliminating the need to unlock it and saving me a second month's plan fee. I'm so happy with it that I bought a second one for $30. $75 for two 2025 Stylus phones is a steal in my opinion. The OLED screen is very nice and the performance is good, with no lag.
So you activated with straight talk then swapped to your visible sim? Thanks!

Why did Straight Talk cancel my order? Has this happened to anyone else?

I have TracFone service. If this phone didn't unlock, could I just throw a TracFone sim card in it and would it work without unlocking on the tracfone network?

Anyone try this? And if it has been answered already in the thread I am sorry, but there is no easy way to search through 300+ posts to find the answer.
