Sadly just yesterday it was announced that the FCC has granted Verizon waiver so as of today any purchases moving forward they will no longer have to adhere to the 60-day policy. And there was no restrictions at all as far as I could see I don't know if it's going to be 12 months concurrent or what.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.

So I mean you could do worse than a Moto G stylus 2025 as a music player but. ... Just terrible he depressing anti-consumer news again from the current FCC

It's too late as of today Verizon no longer has to do the 60 day unlocking because they were giving away her from the current FCC. I mean I'm sure word will get around on these comments sections but I do wonder what's going to happen to edge cases people that bought a phone a week ago or two weeks ago or whatever. Anecdotally I can say my Moto G Stylus 2025 that I bought in November seems to have been automatically unlocked in the sense that when I switched my infamobile SIM card over it still works. So far anyway.

But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.

The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

Can you activate the phone then transfer service to another device? Just want to start unlock timer, use service on another device.

I remember that you can rebrand straight talk to Tracfone. Then use Tracfone cheap plan for 2 months to unlock it. Not sure if it is still the case ...
To get this deal you have to buy 1 month of $75 service for the two lines.
Now question is if you rebranded after that first month would it need 60 days on the rebranded provider or could you just do 30 more days?
But might even be a moot point soon as the policy is most definitely changing any day now.

It was 12 months to unlock for years before Verizon bought the TF brands several years ago and were forced to make it 60 days as part of the purchase.
After the way they treated active customers in April (making unlock policy changes retroactive) I don't think they care about being "reasonable".
Not reasonable for consumers. Reasonable so they stay competitive with AT&T & T-Mobile prepaid. AT&T unlocks in 6 months, and T-Mobile will do it for $100 in refills.

It still works, I did it a couple weeks ago via chat with Tracfone. I didn't even bother activating with StraightTalk first. The rep was happy to help. You just state that you want to rebrand your phone.

You only need a total of 60 days of paid, active service under the TracFone Wireless umbrella, not 60 days on each individual brand. How the 60‑day rule works: The current unlock language for TracFone brands (Straight Talk, Tracfone, Total, etc.) is: auto‑unlock 60 days after paid activation and 60 days of paid active service on Verizon, assuming no fraud/loss flags. Community explanations and recent policy clarifications note that the 60 days of service are cumulative, not "60 days on Brand A plus 60 days on Brand B."

Hmm. My wife and I use Tracfone. I wonder if we could buy this, and then have them 'requisition' (is that the right word) to Tracfone, and port our current lines over?

Or would it require us to pay the $150 for 2 months of both phones, unlock, and THEN xfer our lines over?

I Have straight talk. If I just want the devices as a backup, can I apply the service to my main un locked phone? Or is it tied to this phone only?

Not sure if the deal expired or because of order system issue, while in cart price shows both phone are free I was charged $293 for two phones and two silver lines to credit card. Please make sure you double check your total before placing the order.
Now I have to deal with the package refusal. What a hassle!
