"For all cellphones Activated on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically 60 days after paid Activation and 60 days of paid active service."
Nothing in that page mentioned anything about 60 days of "continuous" service. Just "60 days of paid active service" is required.
UPDATE: New FCC Ruling on 1/12/26 waived the 60 days requirement.

The new Verizon unlock policy has yet to publish and unknown. Any phone activated after 1/12/26 may potentially be affected.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.
So I mean you could do worse than a Moto G stylus 2025 as a music player but. ... Just terrible he depressing anti-consumer news again from the current FCC
But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.
The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

Unlocking a cellphone associated with one of Verizon Value's brands refers to disabling software that would otherwise prevent you from activating the cellphone on another carrier's network. However, due to different carrier technologies, an unlocked Verizon Value cellphone may not work, or may experience limited functionality, on another carrier's network. Verizon Value is not responsible for any limitations of service, or otherwise, resulting from the use of an unlocked cellphone on another provider's network. Verizon Value is unable to unlock Non-Verizon Value branded cellphones using Verizon Value service (BYOP).
Verizon Value will remotely unlock the phone when it becomes eligible for unlocking, provided it meets the following conditions:
Verizon Value will unlock the phone upon request, either remotely (for phones capable of remote unlocking) or by providing unlocking codes (for phones not capable of remote unlocking) when it becomes eligible for unlocking, provided it meets the following conditions:
The cellphone must be in working condition and turned ON.
The cellphone has not been reported stolen or lost and there are no indicators of fraud.
The cellphone was activated with Verizon Value service by purchasing and redeeming an airtime plan on that specific phone ("Activation")

For certain customers who are not on the Verizon network or who activated on the Verizon network on or before November 23, 2021, if you have not met the required minimum period of active paid Service, Verizon Value may unlock your cellphone but you will incur a charge of up to $300 depending on how long your service was active prior to the unlocking request.
Verizon Value may refuse any unlocking request that would result in an abuse of its Unlocking Policy or is part of an effort to defraud Verizon Value or its customers. This Unlocking Policy is subject to change at any time without advance notice.

So if I call and get this phone rebranded as Tracfone, then xfer my current active Tracfone line from that old phone to this one, will the 2 years of ongoing Tracfone service I already have prepaid count towards unlocking of this phone? NO, it never works that way unless you mean going forward. I am not 100% sure rebranding will count as "activating" the new phone.
Or is there a better way to do it, such as not activating on Straight Talk, but trying to activate on Tracfone? The specs on this phone are much, much better than the ones my wife and I are currently using on Tracfone. I just don't know how easy it is to rebrand from Straight Talk to Tracfone, or if it is worth trying at all.
Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks so much.
** Ugh, never mind, price is now $199 for a single phone **
As far as rebranding to tracfone, IDK, but that's going to be my direction. I guess I'll find out. I will surely attempt this without activating on ST first. I will have a new TF sim for the attempt. TF is a lot more versatile in their plan offers. If you're already on TF, the QVC offer for 2 moto g power for $90 (less possible discount of $10 or $20) might be in your wheelhouse. There are a lot of scenarios to mitigate cost.

I activated them before the Jan 19 deadline and I just received yesterday. HOWEVER when I'm trying to pay for one month more of service for the Stylus phone (in order to get it unlocked ), my shopping cart automatically adds one month of $20 tablet plan too! How do I just add one month of Stylus and NOT another month of the $20 tablet phone? So frustrating.

First thing after receiving the phones you may want to login to your Straight Talk account. When you do, you should see two entries under "My Plans" probably just showing partial IMEI numbers and maybe they say something like, "Activate Service" or similar.
I'm saying all this off of my possibly poor memory, but essentially what I remember doing was:
The next steps should be doable anytime within the first 30 days after step 1 (activation) but probably all within the same day.
After you run through the process above, you should log back into your Straight Talk account and find one of the entries has become a phone number (Phone A) and the other is just a partial IMEI (Phone B) named "Default_Old" with a ! mark to indicate "Inactive" asking you to reactive service. This might take a day or something to reflect in your account.
You should also now see a Reserve balance of $45 or 30-days silver plan, or something. This will apply to your already active line upon its renewal. My guess this happened because when your order was placed, each phone was associated with a $45 plan slated to start upon each turning on. However, since you put the other phone's already-active SIM (SIM A) into it, Straight Talk just assigned its planned value to your currently active line instead.
Reminder, I am still in the waiting period for about 9 more days, so we'll see if this goes as expected. Either way, no loss to me since the phone was in use over this time and I haven't, yet, paid for any additional ST service.

Also, they didn't backdate the contract like last April.
