Sadly just yesterday it was announced that the FCC has granted Verizon waiver so as of today any purchases moving forward they will no longer have to adhere to the 60-day policy. And there was no restrictions at all as far as I could see I don't know if it's going to be 12 months concurrent or what.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.

So I mean you could do worse than a Moto G stylus 2025 as a music player but. ... Just terrible he depressing anti-consumer news again from the current FCC

It's too late as of today Verizon no longer has to do the 60 day unlocking because they were giving away her from the current FCC. I mean I'm sure word will get around on these comments sections but I do wonder what's going to happen to edge cases people that bought a phone a week ago or two weeks ago or whatever. Anecdotally I can say my Moto G Stylus 2025 that I bought in November seems to have been automatically unlocked in the sense that when I switched my infamobile SIM card over it still works. So far anyway.

But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.

The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

Whelp mine came in yesterday but I'm certainly not gonna have them activated for a whole year now. What's the return policy on these? I opened the box but not the device packages. Let me guess, ship back on my dime and wait 3 months for a refund?

does anyone know if these phones work on Infimobile prepaid? looking at that $50 annual deal
I want to know this too. If we can switch to Infinimobile on the Verizon network after the first month, I can live with the deal.

I think I just discovered a problem. Can those who are using their new Moto G Stylus phones PLEASE check something for me? Im using mine with a Visible sim card and it worked flawlessly. I think the phone installed 3 firmware/security updates since new a few days ago. Now the "USB tethering" option no longer works, where it worked fine before the updates. After firmware/security updates, if you could please check to see if your phones will still tether using a USB charging cable, and report which provider you are using, we might get a consensus of how to resolve this problem.
If you have a solution, please help.

I'm experiencing a similar issue, so it's definitely not just you. I thought it was odd that Straight Talk would block tethering when the plan includes a 10GB hotspot. Looks like I'll have to use PdaNet+ for now until they resolve the issue. But PdaNet+ has terrible stability and tends to lose connection frequently. I might have to revert to using my old phone, Moto G Stylus (2023) for USB tethering.

I can also confirm that these locked phones work on an existing Visible account. I popped the sim from my Pixel phone running Visible into the Stylus 2025 and phone calls, texting, and data worked right away.

I saw that Visible has the IMEI checker and glad to see some of you have already tried and it works on visible network. Do we know if these will work on any verizon MVNO as well?

It doesn't work on Infinimobile apparently, so I'm inclined to think Visible (and possible the other Verizon-owned MVNOs) is the only MVNO that will work with these locked phones. https://slickdeals.net/f/19121404-5gb-12-month-infimobile-sim-prepaid-plan-2500-min-2500-txt-49-free-shipping?p=182059846#post182059846

Thanks. Yeah reading through that you may be correct that we have to be only on a verizon owned MVNO. Question is if we do stay a year can we unlock then?

I researched those unlocking services as well. They offer a PIN which only works if your phone asks for a PIN to unlock when you put in a different sim card. When I put an AT&T sim card in my locked Stylus 2025, it just shows an error warning and does NOT ask for a PIN# so I'm inclined to think the code service will not work on these phones. I tried one before with a similar Stylus 2024 locked phone and the unlock service could not unlock it and refunded my money, so I'm thinking it will be the same result this time with the Stylus 2025.

return policy was pretty bad. They will not refund the service charges and you will have to ship the phone back at your expense.
So since you paid zero for the phone and only for the service i assume zero refund even if you send the phones back on your shipping expense.

I just swapped the sim card into a Samsung phone and tried USB tethering and it works fine, so its not my carrier. Im reluctant to do a factory reset since it took so long to get the Moto configured the way I like it, but that might be the next step. Yeah, PdaNet+ has always been unstable. And no effort was ever made to correct it.
Is anyone else not able to use USB tethering with their new Stylus?

ASKING AGAIN: Is anyone else not able to use USB tethering with their new Stylus? It worked fine before I applied the 3 systems updates and now its broken. Not sure if it was the updates that broke it or something else. ANYONE?
