Sadly just yesterday it was announced that the FCC has granted Verizon waiver so as of today any purchases moving forward they will no longer have to adhere to the 60-day policy. And there was no restrictions at all as far as I could see I don't know if it's going to be 12 months concurrent or what.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.

So I mean you could do worse than a Moto G stylus 2025 as a music player but. ... Just terrible he depressing anti-consumer news again from the current FCC

It's too late as of today Verizon no longer has to do the 60 day unlocking because they were giving away her from the current FCC. I mean I'm sure word will get around on these comments sections but I do wonder what's going to happen to edge cases people that bought a phone a week ago or two weeks ago or whatever. Anecdotally I can say my Moto G Stylus 2025 that I bought in November seems to have been automatically unlocked in the sense that when I switched my infamobile SIM card over it still works. So far anyway.

But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.

The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

Just tossing my hat in the ring: I ordered on the 16th and the phone was shipped on Jan19th. I activated it with a Silver Plan from Straight Talk on the 22nd or 24th. Either way, it was after the new deadline. Today is the last day of service on that plan. I'm going to renew it (with a Bronze Plan), and reach out to Customer Support after my 60 days are over. Obviously there was a risk with going through with this on the 16th of Jan and even a greater one today, But I can't imagine any other service not being selling you something and then switching the terms while the item is in transit, (and you're incapable of doing anything). IE the ol' bait-n-switch. If they don't unlock it, I'm just going to go right to the BBB - which I'd advise others to do under "Straight Talk Wireless". Even if they just agreed to unlock it after 360 days or whatever without needing to pay for service, I'd be a happy camper.

Do not return. Phone/plan gets activated on the day they ship. So, probably on the good side or worst case 2 wifi phones for $75+tax or able to recover by reselling
Further, these locked are still good for trade ins. At&t will give you a stupid amount for a new line. Get a free pixel (36no bill credits tho)

Did yours unlock? I'm also on my 61st day and it hasn't unlocked yet.

Did yours end up unlocking?

I'm also on my 61st day I think since I paid for two months and that just ended last night (though I question if it actually was since the phone arrived with only 28 days, but according to the thread that was normal).

Unlocked on day 62 for me. Didn't receive any notification on the phone though, like I did with the older versions of this phone. It just started showing "Unlocked" under Network Lock.

You paid 2nd month on Straight talk or rebrand to Tracfone+ 1 month or activate 2nd month on Tracfone?

I have two phones, activated on 1/3 and then one day after expired, I activated them on Tracfone, which will expire on 3/5. I need to port these two lines to Metro for a special device (not for service, just the device), can I port my Tracfone numbers before 3/5 and still expect these phones get unlocked under Wifi? Reasons are: 1, I need active numbers to port in Metro, not expired numbers, right? 2, I am concerned that the deals at Metro may elapse if I wait too long.

I did not rebrand. Just switched to a cheaper plan and paid for another month.

My ST number was deactivated after order from Metro, even the order was not successful. Will it affect the unlock?
