I bought a Lenovo Idea Tab from a Slickdeal a month ago (December 2025). The model numbers are slightly different - zafr0920 in this deal vs. zafr0928 of the one I purchased. At a quick glance, the specs seem to be very similar, if not identical, except this deal includes the folio case which mine did not - that may be the only difference.
Edit: Actually the zafr0920 in this deal comes with a 256 GB drive, while mine, the zafr0928, has a 128 GB drive. That's a big difference.

Mine came with Android 15 and June 5, 2025 security update installed. A system update brought it to Android 16 and October 5, 2025 security update.
Another system update on 01/07/2026 brought it to January 5, 2026 security update - surprisingly quick availability of this latest security update.

Does anyone know, what version of OS do they come with and what is the OS/security update policy on these. i checked the Lenovo web site but found no information. They are vague on the updates.
I has a Lenovo tablet in past which probably got 2 security updates in the 2-3 years i had. Ended up getting a Samsung tablet, Lenovo was sent back as exchange.
These say student additions, security updates will be a must for them.

However, Lenovo doesn't specifically guarantee major Android version upgrades (like to Android 16, 17, etc.). Most budget Android tablets typically receive 1-2 major OS updates, but this varies by manufacturer."
