I haven't used this brand yet ... Anyone that has, does their black petg print super shiny? It's difficult to tell if this screenshot is a real pic or render and regardless the spool pics don't always show how the martial prints out. I prefer the petg that isn't excessively shiny.

If you have used Sunlu, this is also just Sunlu filament. There are like 4-5 big filament manufacturers and a lot of filament that you will find is supplied by these.

I recently found a few rolls of these unopened in the original vacuum bags. I tried to print with 2 rolls and both were having feeding issues. I am using a Bambu Lab P1S if this matters. I have no problem with other brands that were stored the same way except this one.

This is the only petg I have used and it seems pretty shiny to me.

Just out of curiosity, did you heat it up before use?

I got my P1S at Christmas so I'm still pretty novice, but have had nothing but failures with this brand. I've used both generic profiles and custom profiles and can't seem to get prints to finish without error with this filament. The few I did get to the finish line had a ton of very fine wisps of material between points. When I tried a couple options to correct for that problem I got catastrophic failures so now I don't know where to reset to in order to try new settings.

PETG is typically shiny. PLA is typically more matte. However PETG is tougher than PLA. In addition to how the resulting print looks, you'll need also assess its long-term needs, whether it is going in a rougher environment (outside/hot/abusive) or not.

I prefer PETG as I'm more interested in durability and can take or leave its shininess. Also, for multicolor prints, you can't mix the two as they don't bind well, but you can use one as support material for the other.

The Rapid PETG is less than $1 more and will cut your peint time drastically. Perfect for longer prints.
