there are other ugreen hubs with ethernet; not everyone needs ethernet, so for me, this was perfect... i bought this last week, and it has been working smoothly for my setup so far.

I'd prefer one with 2 hdmi outputs. Also, has anyone ever figured out why the lead cable has to be so short?

I assume these are designed as more of a portable/travel type of dock so the short cable is good enough and it's cheaper than having a longer or removable cable. If you want a full feature dock with a longer and/or removable cable I'm sure there are plenty of options. If you are looking for really cheap you are probably going to find lots of things like this one because that's part of how they make it really cheap.

I love how they count the USB-C port for USB-PD input for pass through as a port in the 6 in 1. From the images, it's only for power passthrough and can't be used as a USB-C port for data or anything else.

I have a very similar Ugreen dock, and the charging port is finicky. It only works with dumb laptop chargers. If I use any kind of smart PD charger, the connected device does not change. I suspect it has something to do with the "handshake" that happens when you plug in those devices. This is listed as a "pass through" charger, so that handshake probably doesn't get passed through.

There are 2 HDMI + Display Port + RJ45 versions of these. I use thet in office and it works fine for the purpose but also has very short cable. It still doesn't make sense why they make it short, if thst was the case (keeping it compact) they could have just made the cable detachable. I think there is something about the length of these cables and limitation how much data they can pass while powering. I really cant find anything like these under $50 or even $100 with anywhere near same functionality but with a longer cord .

Both power and high speed data are easier and cheaper to do with shorter and permanently attached cables. Longer Thunderbolt often require active cables as it's just really hard to push that high speed data over copper cables for longer distances.

Currently I use Anker usb-c hub but no video output with usb-c port,Was anyone able to use usb-C port for Display coz using HDMI for display is progressively becoming obsolete?

That's what I thought, but seriously 10" of lead forces you to have all the cables dangle right next to your laptop, really ugly sight.

You are not going to get two 4k 60Hz HDMI for $14 in this timeline.

Cable is short for the same reason you are not going to get 2 4k 60 Hz HDMI for $14.

The engineering to pull all that off reliably does not happen for $14.
