Grabbed this awhile back. Battery life and performance lives up to the hype. I only charge it to 80% (straightforward bios setting) and don't bother bringing a charger with me during the day. Haven't noticed any app compatibility issues.

The screen looks great, keep in mind that it's not touch, but it loses like a third pound of weight because of that vs other snapdragon laptops. I actually thought I forgot to bring it somewhere once, b/c my backpack was so light with this laptop and no charger.

Big caveat emptor for those who plan to do a hard drive upgrade: it comes with W11 home on a 512GB NVME, and it absolutely hates booting from a windows install USB. I could not get it to work, even turning off secure boot / fastboot whatever.

I was only able to get to a larger NVME with W11 Pro using a very specific combination of disk imaging software (balena etcher, I think?) to copy the W11Home install to a new hard drive, then using a generic W11 Home to Enterprise upgrade key, and then using my real W11 pro activation key.

Pretty decent price for this. Just keep in mind that Asus and others unveiled a slew of new devices with the Snapdragon X2 chip at CES, and they are supposed to of course have better performance across the board. Consequently there should be a lot of deals on X1 devices over the coming weeks.

Good to see these Snapdragon laptops coming down below the MB Air. How is the battery life, and is the performance good enough for daily use?

Kind of intrigued by the new A16 model with X2 Elite Extreme chip in it.

Got this for the same price several month before. It's lightweight and the battery is good, about 9 hours. Good enough for my daily work using ms office.

demoting a lenovo ideapad with snapdragon+to my parents after trying out for half a year. I thought it'd be fine with lightweight games and browsing and media. But games take a longer time to startup and load. Tetris effect and circuit superstars only give 60fps at 720p. Noita doesn't run full speed, minishootn adventures can run at 1080/60 if all settings are low. Blank blocks on the home screen of magic arena because some assets don't load. For media if I leave vlc paused for a couple of minutes the video is frozen when I try to unpause. Just a bunch of small things that bug me if I'm doing anything but browsing.

If you have 2 drives (or 2 partitions) you can always do a version of this:

That's like dozens of devices. Most of devices introduced in CES are Intel Panther Lake, which will come available to purchase as soon as January 26h, when review embargoes are lifted. You can find previews of Panther Lake devices by searching for "panther lake" on YouTube.

There weren't as many Snapdragon X2 devices shown at CES because they're coming out a good time later, end of Q1, start of Q2 2026. So most likely we won't see Snapdragon X2 devices out in the wild in force until around June or later of this year.

Nope Microsoft doesn't participate at CES at all. They're expected to talk about new Surface devices sometime in spring 2026.

Thank you OP! Grabbed an Open Box-Excellent for $500. I've been rocking a Snapdragon laptop (Surface) for a year and it 100% meets my needs. (And it'll play Rocket League with good frame rates, on battery, with barely a whisper from the fans.) I LOVE Snapdragon over my Intel laptops.

Was considering it until I found out Google drive doesn't work on it (per grok). This tells me it's not yet ready for mainstream.

That's false, it works fine with Google Drive for Windows. I'm using it right now. You may have issues with video games, but most general apps works fine (7zip, VLC, GIMP, Office)
