I would actually assume something is made of some kind of metal alloy when it's described as metallic such as a metallic faucet or a metallic doorknob. It would be false advertising IMO if metallic means chrome or brass finished plastic.

I do not know the actual content, but I do have one of these cubes. Yes the underlying cube material is plastic. The stickers/labels on the cube look like some type of foil, so it may technically contain some metal.

Looks like the Disney 100 side of the cube stickers were stuck on incorrectly every time I look at this thing. No other side is confusing the same way

Maybe the common use of metallic is imprecise. Dictionary.com lists two primary definitions for metallic:
noun: "relating to or resembling metal or metals."
adjective: "a paint, fiber, fabric, or color with a metallic sheen."
