Seems like a pretty good deal. I liked Tello when I tried them, but that was back in the Sprint coverage days I think. They are T-Mobile coverage now, but a top benefit was their support quality iirc. Generally positive experience from me.

Yes, I agree. While there have been posts on SD lately complaining about customer service, all of my interactions with support have been great. I contacted them two weeks ago because I redeemed $20 in Tello dollars to a paygo balance last January, then they changed the referral program to make earning more difficult for the referrer. I complained that I never would have redeemed that much knowing about the plan changes and asked them to convert part of the balance back to Tello dollars. They responded within hours with a full refund of the order from almost a year prior and restored the $20 in Tello dollars, even though I had used about $3 of it. Since our line is on a $5/month plan, that will give me another four months of service!

isn't the mint mobile $180 for 12 months (unlimited data) a better deal in terms of service, contract length, and data...?

Tello prepaid customer. Great reception. No dead zones even when traveling outside of the 48.

Gee, two back to back posts, both about 10 sentences long, refuting everyone else's crappy experience. Do you work for tello directly? Or do they pay you per post?
Tello ain't restoring referral dollars that's total bs. This company is not your friend, your experience will be adversarial but they hold the cards so you will lose. Warned.

How does it compare to Mint Mobile? Has anyone on Tello experienced problems with 5G service or internet connectivity on the Apple/Google Pixel 8+ phones?
My service between Tello, Mint and now US Mobile have all been great as far as coverage goes.

Any of them that'll do $15/mo for 30-40g of 5G data plus at least some hot spot I'd sign up for. Unfortunately they only do them as teaser rates for new customers. So every year I find another carrier.

Also, we have had good luck with Infimobile.

In my anecdotal experience from having Mint all of last year and before that (and now again) being on Tello, service and data was a wash. I really didn't see much of a difference. As far as contract length, I'm not sure if there's much to say since Tello doesn't really have a contract being month to month.

One thing I didn't like about Mint was that it was a little harder to port my number out. You have to actually talk or chat with customer service to get your account number and pin. Not that it was that difficult. Getting it through the chat was pretty easy but just an extra hassle.

My service will be up in a month. I'm planning to buy the physical sim now so I can wait for 3-4 weeks to activate. My current phone doesn't have a physical SIM slot so I'm planning to activate the service on my old phone, which has one. Is it possible to switch to e-sim before activation? How hard is to switch phones and e-sims on Tello?

Any advice is appreciated. TIA

I'm not sure about switching before activation but it's very easy and free to switch to esim after.

I've tried a bunch of MVNOs and Tello is by far my favorite. Free esim swaps, port out info without talking to anyone, can port in your number after activation, and rollover minutes/data if you don't have an unlimited plan and manually renew.

I love this company. I have had my daughter and spouse (from Poland) on this service for years. Mostly for the free international calling. I've been on Verizon prepaid, which is a joke now for service $35 a month. For Christmas this year I upgraded myself to a new One Plus 13 16/512 phone for $590 all in, and noticed Tello ran a black friday special for $15 unlimited for new or current customers. I snagged that and cut my monthly phone bill in half too, and that service and coverage has been phenomenal. Love me some Tello! Best provider out there as far as I'm concerned . Super simple, intuitive and automated for the most part too.
