Seems like a pretty good deal. I liked Tello when I tried them, but that was back in the Sprint coverage days I think. They are T-Mobile coverage now, but a top benefit was their support quality iirc. Generally positive experience from me.

Yes, I agree. While there have been posts on SD lately complaining about customer service, all of my interactions with support have been great. I contacted them two weeks ago because I redeemed $20 in Tello dollars to a paygo balance last January, then they changed the referral program to make earning more difficult for the referrer. I complained that I never would have redeemed that much knowing about the plan changes and asked them to convert part of the balance back to Tello dollars. They responded within hours with a full refund of the order from almost a year prior and restored the $20 in Tello dollars, even though I had used about $3 of it. Since our line is on a $5/month plan, that will give me another four months of service!

Are you serious? How would it benefit me to lie about my customer service experience? Email attached.

I'm not misunderstanding anything. You are and trying to confidently claim I'm wrong. They're both QCI 7. Everything that's not T-Mobile branded or Google Fi is QCI 7. That includes both Mint and Tello and every other MVNO on Tmo.
Google FI is QCI 6, not 7

Upon checking out, I'll be charged $11.66 after tax.

So later on the six months, I'll be continued charge $11.66, or just plain $10?
You will be charged $11.66 each month while the promotion is going. In month 7, if you don't change anything and leave autopay on, you will be charged $25 plus whatever taxes and fees for your zip code. Once the promotion is over, you can downgrade to a cheaper plan if you don't need 50GB of data per month.

Google Fi is in fact QCI 6. It's a night and day difference when on congested towers.

I completely forgot about RingPlus!
RingPlus was hilarious. I remember sending what they were charging me to Ting and the rep basically saying some flavor of, "I'm not even mad. That's impressive."

What was the setup again? Seems like they'd force you to pay every so often, but what you got back was insane... a rob future Peter to give service to today's Paul. It was obvious it was going to crater, but an amazing deal until it did.

I use Tello now and it's what Ting was minus the amazing phone support Ting had.

I didn't say it was. I said everything EXCEPT T-Mobile branded and Google Fi are QCI 7.

I love this company. I have had my daughter and spouse (from Poland) on this service for years. Mostly for the free international calling. I've been on Verizon prepaid, which is a joke now for service $35 a month. For Christmas this year I upgraded myself to a new One Plus 13 16/512 phone for $590 all in, and noticed Tello ran a black friday special for $15 unlimited for new or current customers. I snagged that and cut my monthly phone bill in half too, and that service and coverage has been phenomenal. Love me some Tello! Best provider out there as far as I'm concerned . Super simple, intuitive and automated for the most part too.
Mind sharing details about the black Friday special: the discount was "forever" or just for N number or months? (If it was by months, any chance you remember for how many?)

Making notes about suppliers for when I need it in the future
Thanks!
