these have all sorts of issues, i tried my luck twice and faced issues like bad keyboard, dead pixels, depleted battery (less than 70%) and returned both times. This has featured multiple times on FP for as low as $191. At this point you are taking a chance with whatever is left from returned inventory.

The 16GB of RAM is what makes this a deal!

I've had mine for a year. 0 issues. Like the previous comment, this has been posted numerous times.

$64 more for twice the amount of RAM, especially on a Windows 11-based machine, is absolutely worth it and in the realm of "similar price".

someone with a sub-$300 budget would still have that laptop with 32GB within their budget.

common sense is rather easy to use, which is surprising why you refuse to use it. :-)

edit: ahh, Dr. W got the comments removed, but this was a reply to a comment regarding the 32GB model of this same laptop being listed last week with a similar price: https://slickdeals.net/f/19074454-refurb-hp-845-g8-laptop-14-fhd-ips-ryzen-5-pro-5650u-32gb-ddr4-256gb-ssd-288-free-shipping

That's definitely useful/interesting information, but I'm not sure I'd say the jump between 16GB and 32GB is all that noticeable for someone looking at sub $300 laptops -- even if the $64 price difference isn't terrible with today's RAM prices.

i'm not sure if someone's budget determines their ability to notice the difference between 16GB and 32GB of RAM, but I know that Windows 11 has become an unoptimized slop OS that is really rough to use with only 16GB of RAM

Chrome is actually the big memory hog. Using Safari or light browser Edge, Brave, Chromium doubles your performance

Acer eBay Refurbished 90% & Apple Whitebox 100% are best problem free refurbish sellers. Always a new battery and 99% condition.

Dell Refurbished 60% are used, but make excellent spare for $200 under. These always come with used battery for 2-4 year old machine . The one year laptop are 95% good.

HP Elitebook used are plagued with issues and high returns .
I only deal with Lenovo and Dell at work.
