Posted this a few hours ago on reddit. I actually reviewed this a few days ago (with a 4060 TI), in the video I also plopped in a 5070TI, which run perfectly.

Note: ZERO proprietary parts on these. Runs cool too with good airflow.

OMEN software allowed fan tuning in windows.

Excellent deal for 16gb of vram. Don't think it'll get better than this.

I just received my openbox excellent today. This computer looks almost brand new and comes with the original HP packaging. I am glad the computer comes with a single 16 GB DIMM instead of two 8GB DIMMS. This is an excellent box to do some local LLM for me as a beginner.

I experienced a similar high-pitched noise after gaming. I opened the case and checked the noise source, and it was near the CPU, not the bottom where the PSU is. I manually adjusted the CPU fan but the noise didn't change.
For me it happens if not even gaming and sometimes even as soon as I turn on the computer. Ran a PSU test using OCCT, gpu and cpu stress tests but didn't see any change. The only time the pitch changes is when turn on and off the RGB lights. It's definitely at the bottom for me and it's awful. Even my wife was asking what that sound was. I dunno if I'm asking for more headache but this was the deal of deals for me. So I might order a 650 watt PSU off amazon and just see once and for all if it's the PSU or not. I read someone saying it could just be vibrating against something in the case and they put some dampeners and that fixed it. Apparently it's a Cooler Master or whatever so I'll make sure never to buy that brand

That reminds me people, don't forget to run stress tests. Some problems you don't catch unless you've had it on for awhile

After running power stress test 6 minutes, mine started making a noise. It has been more than 30 minutes since the noise started, but still making the noise. Though mine looks almost new, I am thinking of returning it... I am not sure I can fix it.

I found this thread not sure if it is the same issue (that one was with Omen 40L).

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive to test out. The 35L got great reviews on some sites though.

Got my OBE unit. Looks like new, comes with 1 16GB ram module with 3 ram slots open for future upgrades. (hopefully ram price will drop at least a bit in 2027 or 2028) Manufacturer's Warranty is valid until January 24 2027. Also looks like only 1 SATA port is available with one spot for adding a SATA HDD or SSD. Dont yet have time to set it up or test but will do it later. This is a fantastic deal for the price of 850. If I somehow don't like it I could probably sell all the individual parts to break even or potentially make a small profit. (If I really want to go through the hassle)

It's 600W and possibly Lite-On 80 Plus Gold power supply (12v: 49.5a)
According to https://partsurfer.hp.com/?searchtext=BE8B1AAR
Power Supply
Part Number: P06685-001 PSU 600W ATX CDT24 EPA90 SNB
A Best Buy review 6 months ago has the following part list: (but mine has 1x16GB Kingston instead of 2x8GB)
-AMD Ryzen 7 8700F processor (8 cores, 16 threads, 4.1GHz base, 5.0GHz boost)
-HP "Wolant" microATX motherboard (AMD B650 chipset)
-2x8GB Kingston Fury BEAST DDR5-6000 (30-36-36 @ 1.4v) XMP RGB memory*
-OEM HP RTX 5060Ti graphics card with 16GB video memory
-Western Digital SN5000S 1TB NVMe SSD
-600W Lite-On 80 Plus Gold power supply (12v: 49.5a)
-Realtek 8852BE WiFi 6 + Bluetooth
-HP Omen 35L microATX case with tempered glass side panel & 3 fans on USB hub

This was a definitely great deal, but I just returned mine because of high-pitched noises. I wanted to get an exchange but they didn't have any open box available...

For some reason this Omen 35L doesn't like my 2TB Micron 1100 SATA SSD. It gave an error right after power on before booting into Windows.
In Windows it is showing as working without errors but unusable in GPT protected status. Luckily I have a Samsung 870 EVO SATA 2TB that works right away without any efforts. 3TB is plenty for my use cases. Great deal. It is also very quiet so I wonder if the reported noise issue only applies to defective units. If so, I assume it should be covered under warranty. I did Black Myth Wukon benchmark multiple times with max settings and the machine is very quiet during all tests.

Yeah I'm bringing mine back tomorrow. I'll try some games tonight to see if I want to go through the trouble of replacing the power supply but probably not

BTW a 650 watt PSU doesn't make a lot of sense as the original PSU is already 600 watt. -Lite-On 80 Plus Gold power supply (12v: 49.5a)
If you want to upgrade you may consider upgrading to a 850 watt PSU.
When I custom build Omen 35L on hp.com there is no option for a 600watt or 650watt PSU:
https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp...-9x560av-1

If I select 5060 Ti 16GB I am forced to choose the 850w PSU. So this combination of 5060 Ti, 8700f and 600w is actually impossible when customizing the Omen 35L on official website.
That is said I have not seen any problems so far. WIll test more to find out. It is anyway under warranty until Jan 2027.

Huh that's interesting about what they limit. I was about to order an open box rme750 for like $90 but kinda kills the deal for me. I'd like to keep it, ran perfectly in every stress test I did, but that PSU coil whine is like the ringing in your ears after being near a gunshot. Also the warranty has like six months left for me so maybe this took some time to occur. I dunno, I'm a fool though so I'll keep my eyes open on Slickdeals some more. Maybe pay a little extra for 32gb and a 5070.

This is my first "RGB" gaming desktop and I found the RGB lights too distracting. (Coming from Dell XPS 8900 to 8940) Just found out that all the lights can be turned off in the "Omen Gaming Hub" app. Finally I can fully focus on my gaming and other tasks!

So I returned my today. Look at the shelves for any other open box deals while I'm there. Don't see my model anywhere. Then tonight look online and see they got an open box of the same model that is Excellent condition now. Sketchy. Wonder how many times that computer was bought and sold if it was six months into warranty lol.
