Just a PSA that this is a model infamous for battery draining while playing (plugged in), especially on Turbo/Performance mode. Supposedly playing on Balanced mode significantly reduces the battery drain (still happens), but Balanced mode also limits the wattage powered to the GPU (55w supposedly).
I'm not seeing a confirmed fix anywhere - people tried using a 180w charger but I haven't really seen any success stories. One person said it worked for them by using an official 180w Acer charger from an older laptop they had, but no further details/confirmation. Acer customer service rep apparently said this is "normal behavior".
With that said, if you are buying this for your kid and you don't want them to play too much at once, I guess this is one way to do it.

Assume the device is in turbo/performnace mode and fully charged. How long to discharge - ten hours? 15? Do you have a URL with details?

That heavily depends on the actual specs of the laptop and the games you play. The combination of the CPU and GPU on this model can theoretically hit above the 135W provided by the charger, and that would more likely happen on AAA titles demanding a lot of resources.
This guy summarizes it fairly well in his original post:

But it's a fairly common issue, simply google "Acer Nitro V 16 battery drain"

I purchased this one 2 weeks ago for $599 at Walmart.com. Might want to track pricing there instead of getting a refurb.

Very solid laptop for the money. I added a 8gb module (for now, since 16gb is crazy expensive).

Got this brand new last month. It's been freezing periodically and requires a hard reset. I don't trust it to last, so is going back.

I worry that these refurbs are just the problematic units that people returned.

Acer is a horrible company. They can take a month to ship, and it'll probably be broken when they do. Take days to respond, and won't make it right. Ebay won't help. Avoid this "deal"

For those interested there is a fix but you have to use old bios and upgrade the charger as the 135W may not be able to sustain the higher power draw.

edit: My mistake this BIOS downgrade trick is for the ANV16-v41 and not for this laptop ANV16-42.

Why not buy this directly from the Acer refurbished on Ebay and get 2 year warranty for $10 more? https://www.ebay.com/itm/267508911021

Did you just have the 8gb lying around? I'm looking for a deal on an 8GB DDR5 to add to mine... and they're all more expensive than 16GB was three months ago 🥲

If anyone knows where I can get a deal on a RAM upgrade for this laptop, I'm fine with 24Gb total...
