The Moto G Power 5G 2024 stands out as a budget unlocked phone with unusually strong specs for the money, including 8GB of RAM, eSIM support, a 120Hz display, wireless charging, and a microSD card slot. It handles everyday work apps, travel, hotspot use, and general daily use well, and the battery and overall reliability draw praise. The main caveat is the screen, which can dim from the side and wash out in bright sun, and security updates are expected to end in March 2027. The Best Buy Visible bundle can drop the effective price to about $80 to $105, depending on taxes and whether the SIM refund clears.

So the phone is $80 after a discount? Wondering if it's worth to upgras=de from my IPhone SE that's 4 years old now... Maybe not much of an upgrade outside of screen size...?
The SE3 has a MUCH better camera for stills and 4k video and speed so if that's important, the Moto fails. Speaker quality on the iPhone is much better too. Maybe consider a iPhone 13? 14? 16e is always on sale too on Straighttalk. Cricket has the iPhone 16e with port in at $49.99 and buying 2 months of service at $60. each. Unlocks in 6 months if that's important. This way you will own something with strong value for resale. Even a used and unlocked 16e brings $300+. on ebay.

The a16 was forced upon me for my work phone. Previously I had the a14.
I'm not a picky man. I work in IT but for my personal things I'm satisfied with good enough. I used to work with cell phones years ago.

I have never been more frustrated with a cell phone ever. Now to be fair it has some company security app on there that I know is slowing things down. But it is so slow to respond. If your connected to android auto and open the camera app, it will lock up and AA will crash. If connected to AA, you might hear your phone ring, you might see a popup on the screen to answer the call, if that fails you might be able to unlock the phone, fallwed by you might be able to see the call prompt there. In either case it might respond when you tap the answer button. But all of those things need to work to answer a call.
AA is capable of launching teams and zoom meetings, but this phone isn't.
If you need to take a quick photo, it might take less than a minute to open the camera app.
I've spoke a lot about Android Auto. I've told my people that we need something better. I feel that this phone might cause my death. Obviously AA is something you're using while driving.

Security updates expected to end for this phone March 2027.
Security updates on old OS aren't as good as an up to date OS. They can only protect what the old OS was capable of doing.

Go to the phone on the BestBuy site, and at the top of the page will be a link that says "Bundle and Save", that will show you the specific SIM kit you need for the discount.

so much spec for the money. shame this is almost impossible to replicate in a tablet form factor
You can get pretty close if you don't mind buying refurb devices. Revvl tab 5g on eBay, T-Mobile unlocked with 1 year warranty, $95. Helio G99 with 6GB of RAM, 2000*1200 resolution. https://ebay.us/m/bquE0m

Important note here: Dark Shadow is the name of the colorway for the device. It confused the heck outta me thinking all these devices had LCD burn in issues until I learned that.

Good phone, I use this for testing and traveling for watching movies, hotspot etc. You can clean it up (remove bloatware) and get it close to stock android

Good phone, have had it over a year. No issues. Going to get this for my daughter, probably... though I may just stall, waiting for a better deal and miss this one, HAHA

For $169.99 the Moto G Stylus 2024 can be purchased with a Moto G 2025 trade in ($50.) and the Stylus is a nice strep up certainly in screen (aPOLED), faster processor, better cameras, more storage vs Power. Stylus has a MUCH brighter screen too at 1,200 nits vs 500 nits with the Power. My big dislike with the 2024 Power and why I moved on from it as bright sun washed it out. Without trade the 2024 Stylus is $219 unlocked from Motorola direct or $199. on Amazon.

I bought this phone in the morning at $80. wanted to buy another one, but now it's back to $130??
Is it a regular phenomenon at Best Buy? I saw same pattern with apple iPhone 15, a few days back. I saw $50 less in the morning. By the time I decided, the price was back to normal.

You probably got Moto G for $80. Moto G Power 5G has been $130. Both are cheaper to buy as Bundle with Visible.
