Confirmed, and back pockets have buttons (not a fan). Also, if you have a larger phone you may find the pockets barely adequate.

ordered these a while back, good fit but the hip pockets are not very deep. Stuff falls out when sitting down.

I haven't made a study of it. In general, I think the pockets in most regular pants (jeans, casual slacks) are adequate, but rarely zippered. I don't get a lot of cargo pants so can't say I've found one of those that's better. I think these are *OK* - I doubt a max/ultra phone would fall out, or even stick out - but it's a little closer than I'd like.

Lee Men's Extreme Motion Twill Cargo Pants have velcro flaps over the cargo pockets and rear pockets and the cargo pockets are big enough for most smartphones. Amazon sometimes sells these for under $20.
