Clearance was 60% off from 12/17 until 12/29. Then, 50% started on 12/31. I think it was briefly 40% after that before going back to 50%.
There's nothing to "beware" of here. Businesses can't survive when people nitpick every little inconvenience and keep demanding more even after being helped once. You already received a free replacement, then broke it again, and now expect another one after decades. How long is that cycle supposed to go on?
If I didn't like a burger yesterday, should I walk into your restaurant today and demand a free one, and repeat tomorrow? It sounds absurd because it is absurd. This kind of behavior is exactly why prices keep rising for everyone and why customer service keeps declining—legitimate customers end up treated like freeloaders and thieves because of situations like this.
I've never once asked for a replacement in my life, not even for electronics under warranty that I didn't bother to check. Meanwhile, some people want free clothes and backpacks forever. That's not fairness—that's exploitation.

A "lifetime warranty" is largely a marketing promise and a way to build trust in the brand. It's meant to cover manufacturing defects or poor workmanship that prevent the product from functioning as advertised — not decades of normal wear, misuse, or abuse. No company covers that.
Realistically, no one keeps proof of purchase for decades, and few people want to pay out-of-pocket shipping just to replace an old item when newer, improved versions are widely available at good prices. In many cases, the shipping alone costs nearly as much as buying a new product.
Even electronics with one- or two-year warranties come with fine print and are often denied for breakage. That's just how warranties work.
Let companies survive and keep innovating so we can all continue to enjoy good products and good deals. Cheers!
