This place has horrible customer service. My package is lost and they told me to wait 3 weeks and then contact them. I would avoid at all cost.

Thanks for the info. I've bought from them several times without issue, but I guess it's when things go wrong that you really find out.

Milwaukee batteries from Amazon are almost always fakes or black market (with questionable warranties).

I'm comfortable buying from any Milwaukee-authorized dealer. Home Depot have some great deals on Milwaukee, but if you stick to them, you miss out on a lot of other deals on genuine, warrantied products from authorized dealers.

Yeah I tried to cancel my order but I'll need to return it when it arrives.
How does one determine if the battery is counterfeit?

The easiest way is with a side-by-side comparison with a battery that you know is genuine, of the same type. Failing that, you can compare with images from Milwaukee's website. The biggest giveaways are fonts and colors, and sometimes the text is slightly different. Some fakes use Phillips screws rather than torx. Then there is the more subjective comparison of the quality of the plastic. If you do have a genuine battery of the same type, then weighing them can also reveal discrepancies. Finally, sometimes the only way to confidently detect a 'good' counterfeit is to take it apart and look at the circuit board and the cells themselves.

Just wait for Home Depot sale... that is the most safe way. Forget buying them from Amazon.

...erm, or buy the current deal which is equally safe since it is from an authorized dealer.
