How is it so cheap? Just the electronics and parts and pieces will be more expensive.

Because it's AliExpress, it's common for things to sometimes be very cheap compared to the rest of the market. Hence why this was posted.

It's $250 at Walmart, so still a deal but not originally $700+

Sure, it will definitely go off your property, two doors down and legitimately run over the neighbor's cat.

Must fight the urge to try this. I have a fenced in back yard with no delicate flowers to worry about.

You don't, just yard staple it down tight to the ground. I wouldn't recommend this mower though.

I'm waiting - CES had some new models this year, looks like we're still a generation or two away from a reliable, affordable remote option.

Here it is on Amazon [amazon.com] with reviews
Just a heads-up... most of those reviews are for vacuum cleaners.

Boundary wire mowers are terrible. It is a lot of work to plan and place the wire. If you change anything in your yard you have to redo everything. Forget about it if you don't have a flat lawn too. Also consider the cost of battery replacements. I regret paying $1K for a robot mower.

Good catch - this has 44 reviews on Amazon, and 25% are one or two stars (27% one or two stars of 59 reviews across both the bigger and smaller models).

I've never understood why Amazon doesn't stop sellers from doing this. I've seen this countless of times where there is a product with good reviews, and the seller updates the product to be a completely different item (not just selling multiple items), making it look like the new product is well reviewed. I always filter down to reviews for the actual item I'm looking at, and you'd be amazed at how few reviews some of these products actually have compared to the total number.

I've seen larger companies getting fined for doing this on Amazon's platform, but Amazon itself doesn't address it.

This. I get the impression we are close to having roomba-like reliability, functionality, and affordability, but are still a few generations away.
