If you have Movies Anywhere, it includes the theatrical version and various other extras.

For Star Wars, it's not simply the presence of the Special Editions that bother people, it's the lack of preservation of the original.

Also, there have been multiple updates to the original Special Edition trilogy over the years that (rightly, in my opinion) piss people off because it's like erasing the work of past actors.

1) All of Boba Fett's lines were re-done with the actor that played Jango Fett
2) Sebastian Shaw's ghost being replaced by Hayden (this change makes no sense lore wise)
3) At the end of RotJ, Vader now awkwardly cries out "Noooo!" as he lifts up Palpatine and throws him into the pit. This, like other changes, was not present in the original Special Editions. It was another change added in a later blu-ray release.

For just about every other movie, you can get the original theatrical version, and the worst thing you'd have to deal with are off/bad color gradings (which most people won't care about or notice). You can no longer get the original theatrical version for Star Wars by legit means.

Had some no rush credits so why not. This one seems to feature the Aliens slightly more than the other films

I kind of wish this WASN'T the special edition of "Aliens." I never got much from the added scenes.

Okay just like I tell the Star Wars special edition geeks to get over it this the directors vision and what he wanted.Back in the day studios controlled everything and would cut major plot points out of films just so they cut the run times so it can play more shows in theaters. And this unlike other special editions seems that it actually adds to the story and shows even more proof of how ruthless the company that send them to the planet is knowing the aliens were there.

So if I purchase then cancel my Amazon membership, do I lose the movie too?

All true.
For people who want to see the Star Wars trilogy in its original form, with color restoration and 4k resolution but no content edits, check out "Harmy's Despecialized Edition".

An incredible amount of work went into making that version, and the results are excellent.

Alien Director's Edition (2003) is far more objectionable than Aliens SE.
Unless you like seeing Sigourney Weaver getting full-speed slapped.

Disney is supposed to be coming out with an original 4K trilogy with none of the added mess

If you mean, if you cancel your Amazon Prime subscription, no. I suppose if you have them remove your Amazon account entirely, I guess.

Purchasing digital content doesn't require a Prime membership.
