Very interesting. I've never seen venison bars before. Anyone tried these?
I've not tried these specifically, but I'm also not sure how this has almost twice the saturated fat compared to a typical grass fed beef stick of similar size... deer is leaner than both pork and beef and other high quality brands of venison report little or no saturated fat.
Looks super salty, too, but at $18 for twelve, that's on par with Jack Links beef jerky if you just want to try it: https://a.co/d/1zfR3r5
Ive had them. They are tasty. Absurd amount of saturated fat though. Must be made from fatty scraps or cornfed forcefed deer in a similar manner as tyson beef.
I had an elk or bison one given to me by my sister. I never ate it because it was like most jerky, very stiff. It looked very flavorful, had nice coloring and well packaged. But I'm a million chews before swallowing type person and jerky would take forever to consume. As noted, sodium is kinda high, but it is used here to preserve meat. Would like higher protein and fat content, but game meat isn't really designed for that. I'll stick to steaks and select cuts for my game meat.
