For what it's worth, Acer does have a version of this laptop that has a core ultra 5 cpu with 32gb ram. The core ultra 5 228v. But it does not have the 140v.

https://news.acer.com/acer-expand...processors
I was reading that page today, I was trying to decide if "up to" meant 32GB for the entire line or just some of it. I couldn't find a single instance online of the Ultra 5 with 32 gigs of ram. Of course no 140V either so that is why I was hopeful the listing might have actually been in the buyer's favor, being pleasantly surprised by a Ultra 7 not a 5. There are 'free' returns as well so I was on the fence if it was worth the hassle.

I wouldn't trust Newegg on a refurb.
In my mind Newegg's version "refurbished" might mean; customer returned > powered on > restore Windows from image > throw in a box with a Allstate warranty. Where (in theory) Acer / Lenovo / etc should actually put the unit through its paces, check battery health, etc.

The Acer Aspire 14 AI laptop is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V processor and 16GB of RAM. It does not have a specified configuration for 32GB RAM mentioned in the available results. However, it is noted that the Aspire 14 AI is designed to deliver reliable performance for various tasks, including AI applications. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
This doesn't make any sense and seems like a canned AI response that doesn't understand what you're really asking. I guarantee that the 32gb listing has 32gb of RAM.

How is allstate warranty? Another thread had someone complain that allstate failed to honor the warranty for eBay purchase due to some receipt issue.
I bought a eufy video doorbell on eBay that came with an Allstate 2yr warranty. After a couple of months the doorbell started to fail, so I submitted a warranty claim. Allstate handled it very efficiently. The product I bought was no longer made so they were unable to send me another one, but they provided cash value (gave me a full refund of my purchase). I was then able to buy another improved eufy video doorbell for about the same price.

It was a bit annoying to have to go search for another doorbell (since the old one was no longer made; not Allstate's fault) but to their credit they promptly refunded my purchase. The doorbell I bought was better quality and had more features, so it was a good experience overall.

This is the answer I got from Acer about the 32GB listing:

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out.

These fools just replied to me asking what the model # was, I was told "A14-52MT-94H5"...which according to https://www.acer.com/us-en/laptop...3#pdpSpecs is "Processor Type Core™ Ultra 9 Processor Model 288V."

I just rolled the dice. Worst case, free return.

This was not a canned response and I don't think this was misunderstood. Acer staff stated the type of processor included and then clarified that the listing does not have the specified 32GB. I'll pass.

Same. I'll be starting a return with VIPOutlet shortly. Listing said 16gb/1tb. Actual laptop is 8gb/512. With current prices on Ram/SSDs the spec difference is a big deal, especially on a budget refurb machine. I tried messaging them but no response so far. I guess I'll just have to do a return and give them a 1 star review. I might have to jump on this as a replacement with hopefully the correct specs.
VIP has become completely bogus. I'm done with these liars.

So far the return process has been pretty painless. I submitted the request and fairly quickly got a return mailer. The FedEX label wanted to print out in a really small size but other than that it was easy. Should be shipped off to them today so we'll see how well the rest of it goes.

The laptop itself was in good shape and I had no complaints on that end and everything seemed to be working fine. Just didn't have the correct specs. I did end up ordering the 16gb model here but it hasn't shipped yet.

I guess I'll find out once I receive mine. I still bet that it will come with 32gb of RAM and that the Acer staff are wrong. That response still doesn't make any sense to me. I'll respond to this thread to update people.

I did the same, because it is actually a 258v or a 288v or a free return. Because otherwise 32 gb memory and/or 140v graphics are a lie. I don't know about hoping for the 288v though (and it might not even be better for my purposes, but I'd go either way. It is a pretty marginal performance upgrade for a lot more power consumption going from 258v to 288v).
It sounds like people are getting LLM hallucination responses in these support questions.

On the fence to get the 16GB one. Wonder if anyone can share their experiences with this model. One guru review mentioned the color display is not on par.

I'll try to let you know what I get, just so we can compare. I received a shipment notice already, projected delivery 1/22, but from TX to NC I'll likely get it on 1/19 or 1/20, assuming it actually ships today vs just a label being created.

FWIW, the reply from them was in multiple fonts so I could tell whoever was copying and pasting the description from the listing, the model # from the supposed laptop from another page, and their text were all different type faces. Them leaning hard on AI too wouldn't be a huge surprise

I did some research and looked back at a previous post of this Acer 32gb model on SlickDeals and it confirms my thoughts. See here: https://slickdeals.net/f/18926419-cert-refurb-acer-aspire-14-ai-14-fhd-ips-touch-intel-ultra-5-226v-32gb-lpddr5-1tb-ssd-485-99?p=180962134#post180962134
