The Acer Aspire 14 AI stands out as a lightweight, travel friendly 14 inch laptop with strong battery life, fast Intel Quick Sync encoding, and solid everyday performance for browsing, office work, and light gaming. The matte touchscreen, bright keyboard, and near new refurb condition with low battery cycle counts make it feel close to retail. The main concerns are inconsistent refurb listings and occasional mismatched specs, plus reports of weak speakers, IPS glow, fan noise, and docked sleep issues over USB C or HDMI. A capable all around machine if the received configuration matches the order.

Just received mine, ordered the 32GB version. Received A14-52MT-701K, in bubble wrap only, with charger. Comestically, 99%, could see remains of the screen being cleaned. Cycle count 1.
I really wanted to like this machine, but the IPS glow / backlight glow is distracting, can see it being especially bad if watching a film with black bars. Of course photos exaggerate it, but the worst spot is that bottom slightly-right-center spot.
Likely returning Frown.

So buy OLED...this is not a high-end Acer model, so backlight bleed isn't priority.

My 32gb came in today. It's the 258v. Just one battery cycle. It seems completely brand new to me, other than the Acer Recertified sticker. Happy with the purchase so far.

I really wanted to keep it, but mine arrived with a scuff and 54 battery cycles... so I'm returning it.

Does your laptop comes with a "default" local user with admin privilege and anyone can login with no password?

I am trying to understand if this is normal. If I should factory reset it again.

How is the battery cycle count seen? Is this something in the BIOS settings? And did anyone's laptop come with the Acer Care Center app? I recall that app showed some battery health info, but the laptop I got didn't come with this app installed.

That isn't normal. Would recommend a factory reset.

Open PowerShell, run this command powercfg /batteryreport /output "C:\battery-report.html", then open the file it created. My laptop came with many Acer programs pre-installed, but I uninstalled them all immediately, so I'm not sure if that one was among them.

Order 32GB and received mine today. Model "A14-52MT-701K". Cosmetic condition : 100% good, I do not see any damages.
However I see "Acer Re-certified" sticker on the back.

Battery cycle: 4
How do run the battery cycle report?

Thanks, I've used that app to mess with performance settings but I'll double check to check the battery!

Glad I am not alone. I am also leaning toward just deleting the "default" account. I don't know if it is a glitch or a flaw in Acer's reprovision process.

I don't know if factory reset will lose any drivers, etc.
