You can re-use styrofoam egg trays for this purpose if you have any handy. Drill or cut holes in the bottom for drainage.

Nice. I think I threw away my starter trays because it's usually cheaper to buy the kit than to get these refills. I might just get a couple packs of these and move to dixie cups this year.

Good price, and many people prefer coir to the more ubiquitous peat pellets. It's sustainable, holds a usable amount of water longer, has a neutral ph, and is easier to rehydrate and reuse. Some cannabis growers swear by coir-based media, and they don't mess around.
