These are really great books. Highly recommended.

Be aware that Dreamworks took significant liberties with this source material, generally to the effect of making the story blander and more generic. Toothless, for instance, is the size of a large cat in the books. Plus he can speak in a dragon language with Hiccup. Astrid doesn't exist in the books, which instead feature a completely different character, Camicazi. And so on.
