I can confirm these shoes are disappointing and mediocre. The traction is great and seems to wear very well, but the cushioning does not feel dynamic at all. They are light shoes overall, but they feel heavier on the run because they are overly stiff. There are much better trail running shoes out there right now.

It's just "pretty good". It's more that the competition has gotten a lot better. The 6 has better durability and is lighter than the 5.

Most of the sizes are gone. I ordered the Merrell trail shoes earlier but am interested in these Hoka's as I have a couple other Hoka road shoes.

Merrell Agility Peak 5 vs Hoka Speedgoat 6 for obstacle course races?
