I can't speak for these, but I have some of their rechargable AA's and they're failing way faster than all of the other brands.

i've been using EBL rechargeable batteries almost as long as my eneloops and have noticed no such failings. nearly all my batteries are as good as when i ordered them several years ago. I guesss it a ymmv thing..

Yeah, I bought EBL Ni-MH AAA rechargeable ten years ago that held up great. But no idea if they're still good.

As for alkalines, this isn't a good enough price to take a gamble on them potentially being prone to leaks.

Is it "ultra long lasting" just because they SAY it is?

Same. The mascot alone caught my interest and made me think about buying these (repeatedly!) even though I don't buy alkaline batteries anymore. I have to keep reminding myself that I would just be getting batteries that I don't need and not the mascot.

I too have many failing rechargeable AA EBL's. I wouldn't give the brand a second try.

EBL can't be compared to Eneloop. EBL batteries discharge much faster, and the actual capacity is nowhere near what's advertised. In the rechargeable battery world, EBL is considered low quality
