Eh. They do a very superficial review. Seems like the price and the clicking noise that the reel makes is their biggest criteria. Really nothing about how well the swivel works or the retraction or the build quality or mounting/assembly. They didn't even test these with water running.

Never buy anything directly from their website. Only get them off Amazon. They have good products, but if you buy direct (I did this to try and help them) and decide to return something, it's a nightmare and I mean nightmare. It took me almost two weeks to get a return label and a full refund.

I had purchased 4 different items (not cheap items either) and one came defective and I just wanted to return it. They kept trying to give me a partial refund. Finally, after almost two weeks they gave me a full refund and told me to just toss the item in the trash.

I've owned this exact one for 6 years in the northwest held up thru rain snow and temperatures in the single digits. Never had issues using it again in the spring. Even if it breaks down today it would have been worth it.

at least it's 5/8" haven't seen a hoe reel sale in a long time and vevor doesn't exactly last very long

I have this other brand installed for 4 years in my back yard and it's still going strong. Although, I don't use it very often maybe once or twice a week.

How easy is it to pull off the mount? I was thinking of rigging up a second mount in the garage and only pulling it out as needed.

I own a couple of reels like these (different brands). In both cases, the mechanism that goes back and forth laying the hose on the reel have broken, which causes problems getting the hose reeled in. I wonder if this reel, not highly rated, would be any different.

Oh, and the mice love to build their nests in them.

It depends, they make a lot of stuff. I have vevor fans I have used for years without any issue. But I wouldn't trust a hose reel from them, or anyone really.
