Is it just me or is this too good to be true? Is this like one of those screw on bars? Or is it a solid steel bar?

Keep in mind that this is not standard Olympic bar size. 1" plates are usually just found in low-end weight sets or even concrete weights.

I ordered 2 of the 7' version to use as my bring your own bar and iso handles for my VTS lite. Worth the $20 risk to try and cut them to size as needed

The 5' 6', and 7' models are sold out now, they will show in cart fine but won't let you checkout for shipping.

Not even seeing the 4' as an option on walmart. 5 and 6 are both showing $5.00. I bought a 5' the other week but had there been a 4' i wouldve preferred that for my total gym. Prob still a bit too long

I received my 6' $5 bar the other day, and it's really, really good for the price (the knurls are a bit mashed in a few places from the manufacturer, but it shipped safely in a thick cardboard tube). The major issue is that it's a 24mm bar (standard 1" is 25.4mm), so normal 1" spring clips don't work - you'd need to order 24mm spring clips from Temu or wherever for a couple bucks more.
From what I can see, you can still order the 5' or 6' $5 bars:

Thanks for that warning. I have the 6ft $4.99 bar coming tomorrow. What kind of tape did you end up wrapping your bar with?

I ended up ordering some 24mm spring clamps from Temu:

You could use duct tape or gaffers tape in a pinch.

Update - even those 24mm Temu spring clips turned out to be too loose. Thankfully I also ordered these clamps for $4 which turned out to work:

It looks like Walmart finally fixed the price mistake on the bars in the original links (and those are back up to a normal price), but here's a link that still works for $8-$10 bars:
