I have the 75" QM8K. Best TV I've ever owned by far, and that's amongst multiple LG OLED TVs I have as well.

How is it better than an OLED? Did you own older ones? I've seen this TV and even the QM8K in person, and I'd still take a C5 or G5 over it. Dimming zones just suck too much on anything that isn't super bright scenes.

Can you talk about the Google TV experience. I heard nothing but bad things about tizen and webos. Can you compare the qm8k to the LG C5? I'm considering the C5 but this price for the TCL can't be ignored
Isn't QM8K 75" around $1400 vs C5 is around $1600? I assume QM7K don't have PQ as C5 does. For $200 difference, what's the reason to choose QM8K? Is it mainly for the brightness?

QM8K 75" is $1600 at BB and $2000 pretty much everywhere else.

Bought this exact model and size from Best Buy on Cyber Monday for 999. Overall, I'm very happy with it. Went from a 55 panasonic 1080p plasma and the brightness is amazing. Zero issues with delivery from Best Buy. It's been a great experience.

Any suggestions for an extended warranty? Had my last two $1000+ TVs die just outside of warranty

two $1000+ TVs die just outside of warranty-- which brands ? That's why I chose the Costco QM6K over this one

I watch TV 12 hours a day maybe more. But I ended up getting black out curtains. I can't tell if it's day or night outside with them. I added some seals for the edges so no light bleeds in. But yea that pretty much solved all my problems with glare

I've been monitoring the Qm6k and waiting to see if the Black Friday deal of $698 comes back. Then saw this. Anyone have any opinions/suggestions? Overall, looking for a higher-end budget TV and all the reviews I've been reading was pointing me to the QM6K. Not a big Samsung fan cause of Tizen and their lack of number buttons on their newer remotes. My current Samsung (and what I am replacing) remote works maybe 1/2 the time.
I replaced a 75" inch Vizio (absolutely awful) with the 85" QM6K. Have had it for about a month and absolutely love it. If that's the budget area you need to stay in, you cannot go wrong with it.

Stop comparing TCL with branded TV. Even if you found TCL tv that has high ratings on rtings, the lifespan is less than expected. I bought two TCLs with 7.7+ rtings review, and both of them did not last 2 years. I bought Sony X90 from Costco since 2020 and it's still kicking sharp image even when my kids were playing Baby Shark 24/7. Just my2c
I have a top-of-the-line (at the time) Sony XBR 55" that's going great, but it refuses to work with wifi. I can't update it or add apps over ethernet, will only work with wifi. Great picture, but it's now a computer monitor (it's awesome at that, though!). I have two TCL TVs that are over two years old and still going strong. Both work fine with wifi and ethernet.

Name brand is not a guarantee of quality, and TCL makes decent products.

I just not seeing a lot of positivity around this specific model.

Weird middle where qm6k will work for most people. Then people that want to drop this money on TV okay to spend a little more for qm8k / OLED.

$800 would be slick and I would be on the way.
$1050 still seems too high. Tcl MSRPs are bologna now.
Got this during BF for $999 and 10% back on Amazon CC. The picture is stunning and the features are amazing for gaming. I've had 0 halo issues and the blacks are super deep, couldn't have asked for a better deal.

Sony X900E then Samsung S95B, think it is just bad luck, but bad luck that may continue. I was looking at the LG B5 at Costco in 65" for the same price due to the extended warranty there

Still watching the 900E. Paid $2200 and $99 for the Asurion warranty, the tv died in about 2 months. Sony sent techs and determined it couldn't be repaired and sent me a new one with a 2 year warranty. Asurion paid the claim of $2200 plus tax. Awesome

what's better, this or Hisense U8 mini led.
U8. Check the rtings compare tool. The U8 is comparable to the step up QM8K.

I don't think the big price premium for the oled is worth it. I have an lg c1 and bought a qm6k for my sons ps5. The blacks are just as black as the oled and its very hard to tell the difference. The image is just as crisp and beautiful.
