Community Reviews
The QM5K stands out as a bright mini LED TV with strong black levels and color, delivering a lot of picture quality for the money. The 65 inch model has been called impressive in stores and solid in SDR, with recent firmware updates and built in Google TV features like art screensavers and news overlays. Audio is also described as loud enough for a bedroom without a soundbar. The main tradeoff is refresh rate, since 4K is limited to 60Hz even though 1440p can reach 144Hz, and the brightness can feel intense in dark rooms.
Common Questions (5)
At the reported sale prices, it is described as a strong value with deep blacks, good colors, and performance that can hang with more expensive sets in SDR. Several owners call it a steal or best value, especially around the $330-$380 range for the 55-inch and $449.99 for the 65-inch.
The QM5K is a 60Hz TV for 4K, but it can do 1440p up to 144Hz. If you want 4K at 144Hz, the QM6K is the better pick.
The QM5K is very bright for its class and can feel too bright in a dark room, with some owners turning brightness down to around 30-40%. The QM7K/QM8K/QM9K are considerably brighter, and HDR benefits from the extra headroom.
The built-in audio is reported as loud enough for a bedroom or small space, with volume often staying around 13/100. The speakers are also described as legit, though one concern raised was a previous TV sounding boxy with no low end.
Yes. You can ignore Google TV and use an external streamer like Roku or Apple TV instead, which also avoids the built-in interface if you dislike it.

Mini LED is just teh best LCD screens you can get right now. It has higher black levels then regular array or edge lit, therefore it has better HDR and dolby Vision content.
And, I find it hard not to buy a OLED and I do not understand the benefits of LCD.
But I like it for one reason only, you can sideload Firefox with a google TV OS. And then you can use the extension "ublock origin"... and now your TV has the best add blocker in the world working. With this I can go to one of my hundreds of unethical streaming sites and watch stuff with no add like I use to watch stuff on netflix... when I had no adds. Or I can always watch live TV... any channel.

My personal favorite is Google TV... don't understand why you hate it so much?
