Agreed, but an issue I have with those streaming sites is that the video quality is low bitrate 1080p at best, which look like crap on my TV. Do you know of better sites you can recommend?
There is the piracy list on github. You need to find it. It has over 1000 links.

I forgot that people want to watch 4k. In my family, we can all be sitting on the couch and everyone has earphones and a tablet on their lap... and the TV has not been turned on for almost a year. I don't have to worry about super good quality when I have a 9.06" screen.

The 55" is down to $330 now. I think its a good bedroom TV (have one in my bedroom lol.)
Thanks, yes, I see there's a new FP deal on it:

The QM5K looks good vs. the more expensive QM6K in this comparo. Personally I think Rtings is a shill for Chinese tvs but if you look at the very important SDR numbers you see the 5 is a brighter tv. Personally I watch a ton of sdr programming, and theres millions of hours more of it than HDR. The HDR numbers are very close too. My son just bought the 55" and I was there when he set it up and it was impressive. I thought the Google system worked good and was super fast, way faster than my Tizen on my Samsung (Personally Samsung is the only brand I would buy for myself). For the price I would rate it with 2 words.....A STEAL!
Yeah, the $330 deal is very tempting. I did buy a Hisense 55" TV for $500 on Amazon during BF week but then canceled at the last min. I guess this TCL is equivalent to that? I don't care about the "smart part" since I'll use my Roku streaming box. I was a little surprised that rtings had the QM5K slightly better in some categories vs. QM6K. I wouldn't play games on it, so that part doesn't concern me.

So... TV panels are primarily made in China, South Korea, and Taiwan, with China leading global production... don't understand why you say Rtings is shill for CHinese TVs.... do you mean compared to South Korea or Taiwan?

I have a TCL 65" TV that I bought during Black Friday in 2018; it is still working great.
So my LeEco Super4 X55 from 2016/17 is also working great... BUT don't be fooled.

Usually newer TV's today are better, but the one thing my LeEco has is a panel that does 120Hz.

But, a high end ten year old TV is no where close to performance and picture quality of the cheapest new TV today.
