Do you know when we'll start seeing those SB deals?
I'm guessing the week before. But you may see some deals after as well as manufacturers start clearing out last year's stock.

I'm still debating over this TV. I want a mini-led and only need 120hz 1440p for gaming. But I loathe GoogleTV. I returned a Hisense U65QF because of HDMI issues and constantly changing the brightness of it (too bright at night). What to do.
This is a 60hz TV. You want the QM6K for 144hz. And as far as the google TV, you can always just use a ROKU or whatever, you don't have to use the Google TV.

This has 1440P up to 144hz; 4k is limited to 60. I'm guessing there is some kind of soft limiter.

Is TCL a dependable brand? How long will it work?
I have a TCL 65" TV that I bought during Black Friday in 2018; it is still working great.

is QD-Mini LED better than OLED for watching movies and TV? I haven't kept up with TV technology for a while.
No... OLED rules.

Mini LED is just teh best LCD screens you can get right now. It has higher black levels then regular array or edge lit, therefore it has better HDR and dolby Vision content.

And, I find it hard not to buy a OLED and I do not understand the benefits of LCD.

Buy this and put an Apple TV on it. (Or Roku or whatever). Put the Apple TV experience, especially if you are already in the ecosystem is 1 million times better than Google TV.
My personal favorite is Google TV... don't understand why you hate it so much?

But I like it for one reason only, you can sideload Firefox with a google TV OS. And then you can use the extension "ublock origin"... and now your TV has the best add blocker in the world working. With this I can go to one of my hundreds of unethical streaming sites and watch stuff with no add like I use to watch stuff on netflix... when I had no adds. Or I can always watch live TV... any channel.

The 55" is $380. Might make for a good bedroom TV?

Agreed, but an issue I have with those streaming sites is that the video quality is low bitrate 1080p at best, which look like crap on my TV. Do you know of better sites you can recommend?

just picked this up (as an excellent open box) for $380 plus 3% CapOne cash back for a 65" QM5K. Replaced a top end Sony Bravia from 2016, picture quality in the store was very impressive, blacks are DEEP, motion settings kind of works against you so I turned it off and its great. Still trying to figure out why I get inconsistent quality in video. I know I'm on Youtube, but popular artist music videos are not sharp at all despite strong wifi signal..

Qm6k vs qm5k:https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...607/100489
The QM5K looks good vs. the more expensive QM6K in this comparo. Personally I think Rtings is a shill for Chinese tvs but if you look at the very important SDR numbers you see the 5 is a brighter tv. Personally I watch a ton of sdr programming, and theres millions of hours more of it than HDR. The HDR numbers are very close too. My son just bought the 55" and I was there when he set it up and it was impressive. I thought the Google system worked good and was super fast, way faster than my Tizen on my Samsung (Personally Samsung is the only brand I would buy for myself). For the price I would rate it with 2 words.....A STEAL!

I remember seeing a countdown that this deal good for the day, it's likely dead now.. Keep an eye on it, price might drop again closer to Superbowl weekend
