So, I bought it few days ago. I've never been a fan of Anker. For me they always have been overpriced Baseus etc. But here are my taughts - This one is a keeper.
I've gone through multiple similar adapters. I have Asus Zenbook 14 and Dell laptops (work and personal) . I wanted 1 cable, instead of hdmi and and power dangling on my desk.
I also have 49" Samsung Oled (the one without build in KVM)
I've tried brand names from Rouge ally official adapter to bunch of no names from Amazon.
This is the only one so far I've been able to find d that will output 5120x1440 on my monitor. That is the native resolution of my monitor and when I connect the laptop via hdmi it displays ok. This is the first time I was able to display it via an hdmi adapter. I've found few hubs that also work, but they are bulkier and their usb c cables were too short, so I had to keep them on the desk .
Now the negative- my Asus shows slow charging. I plugged the original Asus charger, I guess, it is supposed to be 60W. Clocking the charge time thought, didn't seem any slower than usual(when power plugged directly into the laptop) so I think might be just Asus complaining it's not plugged to original charger.
Second negative- the actual dongle is huge. It does not fit into the hdmi space Samsung left on my monitor (G95SC) . So I hag to spend another 8 bucks to buy short hdmi extension.
And bonus - the usb c cable on this is long enough (at least for my needs)
So, overall for less than 30 bucks , it does exactly what I need it to do. Solid 4.5 stars from me

The charging function isn't for powering HDMI, but to charge the device (like laptop) while it's connected to an external screen..

so instead of using a charging brick and a cable to charge the laptop, one would connect them to this adapter itself?

Yeah. It's basically a way to do video and HDMI over one USB-C port. It's probably more useful for devices that have only a single USB-c port (like tablets and whatnot). Or limited ports cause rest are being used.

Cool! I imagine this would work with AR glasses like XReal, Viture, RayNeo, etc.

Might get this to try with a PS5. Thanks!

FYI... 4k60 means this is HDMI 2.0, which does NOT support 4k120, 8k60, VRR, eArc, and other 2.1 features.
While these may not be immediately useful to every single device (e.g. ultra high res/refresh on a handheld), much of the tech listed in the comments does support the standard.

When I used to travel for work I kept a usb-c to HDMI cord in my bag to be able to watch videos from my phone or tablet on the TVs. Most hotels still don't have a mechanism for streaming.
