The new X3D Gigabyte boards like the X870E AORUS XTREME X3D AI TOP are great but overpriced.
The old ones like in this post are pretty underwhelming and still overpriced even at this discount.
Sticking to B850 comparision the MSI B850 Tomahawk/Edge Ti would be both better and cheaper.

Do they have pcie 5.0 8x/8x bifurcation? That's the selling point
Why does the mobo need AI in the name? That's probably a bad idea at the current state of pc building lol
Ryzen AI 400 Series CPU AM5 (square).
it's suppose to optimize copilot (microsoft),
so far unknown if it will contribute to gaming.
B850 is expected as minimum support platform.
so B850/AM5 may be the last ai cpu like this
before the (rectangle) AM6 socket is released.

I have this motherboard and it's really really great. Most B850/X870/E boards have terrible lane spacing and bifurcation options as the market has trended toward less PCIe slots and more NVMe slots. I tend to reuse my old PCs for home servers/homelabs so I like a motherboard with good connectivity. 2x Aquantia 10GBe (works perfectly on Arch Linux) means I don't need to use a PCIe lane for networking. The board has 2x PCIe x16 5.0 lanes which can run at 8x8 or 4x4x4x4. Also it comes with a modest 4x SATA ports. The VRMs on this are also super beefy and more than enough for what I need. All in all can highly recommend and to be honest other than the gimmicky name I don't have anything to complain about it.

bought one, board feels pretty high quality, worked perfectly after installing win 11 25H2. plenty of ports on the back, mostly in type A, no USB4.0 but that gives bandwidth to run 5.0 SSDs and pci-e 5.0 lanes at full speed. This is probably just AMD limitation. If new Ryzen cpu coming up integrates on-chip USB4, then the type-C in the back will pick up USB4.
The VRM is a monster, 110A, most B850s are max 80A. 2x 10Bit LAN is bit overkill but I think will be quite future proof. I think this board is made for heavy AI//render workload, thus made like a tank, plenty of heatsinks etc. I checked it's got near server grade 8-layer low latency PCB//trace. pretty good for the money. I'd expect to pay like 400-500 to get a server level board. no-frills, no fancy lighting etc, very classy looking. I'd say it's a 8.5/10.
