Yeah, I think this the fastest one they make. It's so much current that I'll probably mostly just use this for flexvolts. For the longevity of the battery I'd probably avoid using it on smaller batteries unless I was in a pinch. Lithium batteries really prefer slow charging

Been waiting for a better price on this for a while. Was going to pop on the Woot deal but, saw it on Amazon for $6 more however, with prime will be here in 2 days vs 2 weeks via Woot.

It's got built-in battery cooling, so it might be gentler than a regular hot charger on small batteries. Who knows?

Don't you eventually have enough extra batteries and chargers that this is moot?

The fan does nothing for cooling the battery cells inside a thermally insulated sealed plastic case. It cools the charger. If this is the only charger you use your batteries won't last nearly as long. If you use this only when you need to and a slow charger the majority of the time most people wouldn't notice the difference. Without knowing the "C" rating of the cells it is impossible to know the difference in expected number of cycles. But it will make a difference.

It does actually blow directly on the battery, right at the terminals. If you attach a hot pack, it runs the fan until the battery has reached safe charging temp. It then starts charging and runs fan after it's completed charging, until battery temp is reduced. It also reduces charge output for small batteries, so it won't hurt a 2ah or 4ah.

This is mainly good for heavy work with flexvolt tools, since some tools can deplete one in twenty minutes or less. Even with 4 or 5 batteries, you can run out before you have another one charged on a small charger.

Looks like the 4-unit charger is on sale too. This or the 4-unit for $199? These chargers all seem overpriced. They should be like $15-20.
